I hope they let Reeves & Co. stay at the helm, especially since this property has it's own lane to be in and doesn't seem like they ever intended it to be part of the DC multiverse (which was full enough with Aquaman, WonderW, Superman, Batfleck, Keaton-Batman, Cyborg, Marsian Manhunter, potentially Green Lantern, plus all the people from Flash), so they could just stick with that idea that this Batman/Gotham are their own thing that doesn't have to be connected or in any way tied to the Justice League shared universe/multiverse. Also, I would hope that they still steer clear of the Joker (And, if they do bring him back at all in the future, to dial back on the scarring makeup or I'm going to have to watch the movie with a bag over my head to avoid looking at the stuff on his fingers/mouth) at least for the time being, and let some other villains have a little time in the spotlight. I think WB will try very hard to convince Reeves/Pattinson to be part of a new shared universe. Otherwise they’d have to wait for the trilogy to end to reboot Batman yet again for the Justice League. (Assuming they really are ditching the old DCEU , of course) I would be in favor of this so long as they don’t meddle in Reeves’ plan for the sequels. Forcing him to include franchise set ups like Marvel did in Iron Man 2 would be disastrous. Letting him do what he was already planning while also using Pattinson in a larger franchise could work though, I think. They should go very slow. Maybe introduce Superman at the end of Batman 3. Then a Superman movie.

Is it? "...In a new report from Variety, the future of The Batman 2 may be even more uncertain, as the film is apparently listed as "in development" and has not yet been given an official greenlight from WB Discovery. While Reeves and Pattinson are both attached to the project, the development status implies that the sequel would be years away." screenrant.com/batman-2-development-update-no-greenlight/

The bottom of the article said we'll all likely have to wait for Fandome to find out what the next steps are.

I wouldn’t expect this movie to come out until 2025 at the earliest.

I wouldn’t expect this movie to come out until 2025 at the earliest. I almost forgot how long it took for The Batman to get made. Reeves was announced in early 2017. That's 5 years.

Well, the movie would’ve come out in 2021, if it weren’t for COVID, but yeah, it did take a while for cameras to officially start rolling.

On the other hand we’re talking about WBD now; for all we know they’ve just forgotten to green light it At this point, it wouldn't even surprise me to learn that the paperwork that needs a signature/stamp, is sitting on some Exec's desk, unattended, cause someone simply forgot to actually sign/stamp the thing, and even that person has no idea why the various parties involved haven't started filming.

Who deleted? I think it was that guy with the Clockwork Orange avatar. Used to go by 'jakesully' but I think he changed his name beforehand. Not sure why he deleted though.

From Matt Reeves:
"We're deep in it and my partner and I are writing, Mattson [Tomlin] and I are writing, and it's really exciting, and I'm really excited about what we're doing."

I still have a bad feeling they’re gonna cancel this series after the second movie. There’s no way they’ll have two Batman series going at once.

they might, if they can make money off both I hope that’s the case. Personally I’d watch three Bat franchises at once if they made them.
