I will give it a try. Thanks for the recommendation! Thank you. Let me know if you liked it. I'm not affiliated with Talas or Billy Sheehan but the band is a huge part of my misspent youth. me personally, I liked the album. I finally got a chance to listen to the entire album, and I liked it too. My favorite tracks were the opener "Inner Mounting Flame", which reminded me of Fifth Angel's "The Night"... ... and "The Power to Break Away" which I found reminiscent of Dio's "Faces in the Window": I also got Y&T vibes from "Crystal Clear". Thanks again for sharing!

It was playing on my "mental jukebox" and I wanted to hear it again for real.

I just came back here to listen to "The Power to Break Away" again. It was playing on my "mental jukebox" and I wanted to hear it again for real. I listened to it again. It's very good but the Old Talas was so much better. Strange that they never hit it big but making it in the music business is such a crapshoot. I'd bet there was scores of bands like them who had gobs of talent but never hit the big time. I'm hoping they do another album.

I'm sorry that the albums by the old Talas aren't available for purchase on Amazon.com. I don't want to listen to them on YouTube if I can't own them. It just makes me angry when I can't buy an album I really like. Speaking of power trios that had gobs of talent but never hit the big time, are you familiar with The Rods? I bought their "Live" album on vinyl many years ago, and rebought on CD more recently. Here is the YouTube playlist for the entire album.

They were from around Syracuse or the Finger Lakes region. I had the Wild Dogs album, the one with the three headed dog on the cover. They were big around Rochester. Damn, I haven't thought about them in years.

RIOT CITY's debut was one of my favorite 2019 albums, and my latest 2022 purchase is their sophomore effort "Electric Elite". The album was released on October 14th, 2022, but I did not get a chance to listen to it until recently. The reviewer at the Metal Observer gives "Electric Elite" an 8.5/10 rating and wrote: I've linked to a sample RIOT CITY song, and their entire 2022 album, in the first post of this thread.

Battle Beast - Circus of Doom 5/10 Of all the bands you mentioned here and in the 2023 thread, I'm most familiar with Battle Beast. I own their first two albums "Steel" (2011) and "Battle Beast" (2013). But I didn't like what I heard with "Unholy Savior" (2015), and lost interest in the band. I actually heard some of the song "Master of Illusion" from this album, but I wasn't impressed.
