Wasn't there a recent discussion, about How Louisiana wanted to make Miscarriages a crime?
Stories like this one, is exactly why I am against that, and why such legislation should never exist...
It sounds like they really wanted this child, and really are devastated by the loss... A tragedy, which was completely unintentional, and of which, no one should ever be labelled as a criminal for... Just living with the loss of the child, is hard enough.

I remember the bill suggesting abortion be made into a homicide but the thing about miscarriages is news to me. The most I found was this from the NYT a couple days ago: "...Yet this proposal failed with some of the most influential anti-abortion groups in the state coming out in opposition, criticizing the legislation as a misguided effort saddled with a range of dangerous consequences, including potentially limiting treatment for women who have a miscarriage." I agree with you that such legislation is uncalled for though.
