Stargell, Madlock - later on Bonds, Bonilla, Van Slyke. phils / mets wars were great when Rollins started running his mouth the Phils were the team to beat circa 2007 or so and they previously won squat. think they came back like the last week of the season to take the division that year to go on there pretty nice run from 2007-2011. this is what i mean when you 'root for your rivals to be good'. gimme an atmosphere late September when the Mutts/Phils are positioning for a playoff spot and it comes down to the final 3 game series of the season - it's pretty much playoff baseball right there. like an NFC East game between the Cowgirls/Midgets/'Skins/Iggles on the last game of the season to determines who sneaks into the playoffs.

the bucs? By the time they got good around 1990, we were on the downturn.
please don't mention 2007
the nl east runs n cycles. we were the team to beat in the 80s' in the late 90s we were really good but the braves edged us every year. 2006 was the best, but that team couldn't contnue the success. 2015 marked a new era for us and hopefully it extends now.

After the Mets won the WS in 1969, some predicted they would repeat. The Bucs won the NLED and eliminated the Mets chances of going to the WS.

Game 6 of the '86 NLCS might have been the greatest baseball game ever. That or Game 6 of the '75 WS. Mike Scott hung over that game like the Sword of Damocles. It was similar to Rick Sutcliffe with the 1984 Cubs. He was unhittable in the regular season and shut out the Padres in Game 1. Game 5 was to be a foregone conclusion, but he got shelled. Might have happened to Scott in 1986.

agreed, tgm. even if scott scuffed the ball. we came from behnd and won in extra innings. if that does to game 7, the mets may not have thay second championship.

Will we ever see starters lines like that again in any game, much less such a pivotal game? Game also featured a blown call that went the Mets way.

Dykstra's walk off in Game 3. Game 5 was as great of a pitching matchup as the much more discussed Game 7 of the '91 WS. And you had an epic ALCS. Oh yeah, the World Series was kind of entertaining (I didn't find too much to laugh about at the time).

The 22-year-old got off to a brutal start in Triple-A this season, but he batted .282/.382/.520 with 13 homers over his final 72 games. It's unclear how the playing time will shake out, so we're not banking on mixed league fantasy value here, but Crawford will likely see starts at multiple positions down the stretch.

'crafty' slide into home.... keep him at 'SS' and use Galvis off the bench as a utilityman and start spending all that money they have stashed for the 2018 free agency pool - Manny Machado as a 3rd Baseman sounds good to me - what do you think there Nuts? M&M in a Phils uni?
