For example. Se7en is one of my favorite movies. I watched it while I was visiting my aunt's house for a week during the Summer when I was 13. She had it on VHS and I watched it at night in the bedroom I was sleeping in. The movie almost gave me an anxiety attack. It was like no other movie I had seen at the time. This is the type of TV I watched it on.

Some of my all time favorites I watched in high school film class.
The Godfather The Godfather: Part II The Wild Bunch Midnight Express A Clockwork Orange
All of these movies blew me away. I’d never experienced movies like these before.

I’d never experienced movies like these before. There was no film class in my high school. At least I wasn't aware of one. I watched The Godfather movies before I was in high school. Platoon and Psycho I watched for the first time in High School. Platoon in history class and Psycho just because they were having a movie day and that is the movie the teacher chose.

I think VHS tapes of HBO recordings as well as cable/network TV airings.

I think VHS tapes of HBO recordings as well as cable/network TV airings. I was asking about something more specific. Like when you think of a movie you watched recently, where you can remember the exact room you were in and what time of day it was.

Usually in my family room or my bedroom either during the day or at night.

I was basically asking just to see how good people's memory is when it comes to this stuff.

Roughly 90% of the time, I can remember where I was and who I was with when it comes to movies I saw (in non-streaming cases).

I remember going to the theater with my Dad and Brother to see Jurassic Park. It's particularly memorable because my Mom was mad that we were going. I don't remember if she thought it was too violent, or if she was mad because we didn't have the money, but she refused to go.

My whole immediate family (me, my Mom, my Dad and my brother) and my Dad's 2 sisters and their husbands all went to Jurassic Park together. It was the same situation for Mars Attacks! 3 years later. I specifically remember the car ride there. Of course when it come to memories of things that happened so long ago I don't know how much of my memory is reliable.

MIDWAY KING KONG STAR WARS CE3K STAR TREK SUPERMAN
Sunset Hills Cinema 4 10925 Sunset Plaza, Sunset Hills, MO 63122
The Sunset Hills Cinema was opened December 24, 1964 by General Cinema as a two screen theatre seating 1,500. The larger auditorium had 1,000 seats and the small number two had 500. When the Sunset Hills first opened it was about that time that the suburban theatres started running day and date with the big movie palaces in downtown and on Grand Avenue. The Sunset Hills ran day and date with the Loew’s State Theatre and the Loew’s Mid City Theatre.

Usually at home in the living room. Back then on a small TV and more currently on a high-def one.

I watched a few at home on VHS or DVD in my living room. For the other ones, I watched them during school hours, in a movie theater, or on cable television channels like Turner Classic Movies or HBO.

The Godfather I and II - at home on a classic TV channel, around 2001-2.
A Clockwork Orange - at home, rented at the video store, around 2006. I remember not being able to find it and a clerk pointing me to the sci-fi section, where I didn't think to look.
Citizen Kane - also rented and watched at home around 2006. I remember I had to rent a VHS because that's the only copy they had.
The Shining - at home, around 1997-1998. Freaked me out, then my dad started going "Here's Johnny" and I locked myself in my bedroom.
Psycho - on a classic TV channel, around 2001-2. I'd already seen the remake when it first came to video.
Fight Club - caught the last 20 minutes or so when my parents rented it, which Google says would have been 2000. Then I saw some more of it on TV in 2005. Then I officially rented and watched the whole thing 2006.
Pulp Fiction - rented around 2001-2. Didn't care for it at first. I remember our 6th grade English teacher saying "my wife's a vegetarian which pretty much makes me a vegetarian" and being surprised someone got the reference.
Fargo - this one is hard, actually. One of those movies your parents always watched when it came on TV. Before 2000, I'd say.
Scream - must have been around February 2000, because the third was out and my friend was saying I had to watch, so I begged my mom to let me rent the first one.
Titanic - saw it in the theater. I remember a teacher at my elementary school was an extra, just one of the passengers in the background.

I think I watched the first on basic cable. A Clockwork Orange - I don't remember, but probably rented on DVD. Early 2000s probably. Citizen Kane - Probably rented it on DVD sometime in the mid-2000s. The Shining - Rented at my aunt's house at probably age 12 and watched it late at night. Psycho - Watched it in school freshman year. Fight Club - At the cinema in 1999. Pulp Fiction - Aunt's house at age 13. She owned it on VHS. Fargo - Aunt's house. She owned it. Scream - rented on VHS at age 14. Titanic - I think I bought this immediately when it was released on VHS in 1998.
