Pirates vs the Reds this year: 3-4.
Pirates vs the Dodgers this year: 4-1.
A quarter of all of the Dodgers losses are versus the Pirates.

Dom Smith of Mets sent to Minor. What ever happened to him since the season finale walk off game winning HR? Well, he complained about playing time stating he'd like to be traded to a place where he could play every day. Kind of a tough thing to say publicly when your team is playing great, Alonso is on fire, and you're hitting .186 with zero home runs. I like Dom and I think he could be useful but he really has only that short 2020 season where he played well for an extended period of time.

He should be a .300 hitter with decent number of HRs. I have not followed much of his tried for the OF. Doesn't seem like working out, and no spot for him. He may have to move to another team.

As soon as you found out that the Padres were interested in trading for him, that should have been the sign that he couldn't hit above .220.

Pirates sweep the Dodgers in LA. Crazy. Yeah, that’s insane, the Pirates roster is horrid, and the Dodgers have arguably the best team in MLB. Just goes to show you never know how the games will turn out.

Agree on all counts. His skill level and his production just haven't matched up. I do think he would benefit from playing everyday on another team so I get what he was saying. Just hard to say that when your team is playing so well and you aren't.

Roger Clemens' son Kody Clemens plays for the Tigers
BOTH of his parents were juicers. I wonder if they influenced him.

No one mentioned that today was Lou Gehrig Day. A player overshadowed somewhat by Ruth at the beginning and DiMaggio at the end but one of the greatest hitters ever. Up with Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle (and Darryl Strawberry) with one of the sweetest swings in history. And a great person. From what I read, there wasn't a dry eye in Yankee Stadium when he gave the "Luckiest Man" speech. Grown men blubbering like little girls. He probably lost three years at least to ALS. His last year before the disease started to decimate him was epic, 37 HR's, 158 RBI's, .351, 127 bb at age 34. Next year was good, 29, 114, .295. He would ended up with over 600 HR's, 3000 hits. lifetime average of at least .330-.340. Epic in every way.

Sandy Alcantara is fucking AWESOME!! 7 shutout innings with 8 K’s tonight as the Fishies beat the Giants in Miami, he now has 6 wins and a 1.81 ERA and leads MLB in innings pitched. He’s just fantastic.

He’s just fantastic. He had a hell of a year last year for a guy who lost 15 games. He had trouble keeping the ball in the park but Alcantara seems to have put that behind him.
Whatever happened to Sixto Sanchez? The big piece of the Realmuto trade,, he was supposed to be a solid #1-#2 rotation guy. but he hasn't thrown a pitch since 2020. Is he ever coming back and if he does, will it be as a starter or is he doomed to the pen?

Sixto has been plagued by injuries, I don’t think he will pitch in the majors this year. Hopefully he’ll be back next year, but who knows. The Marlins have a pretty good rotation, Sandy and Pablo Lopez are great, Trevor Rogers is struggling some but is a solid pitcher, and Jesus Luzardo is pretty good as well but he’s on the IL right now. Elieser Hernandez is the weak link, he flat out sucks. If Sixto could come back from his injuries and be a solid starter, the Fishies would have a very strong rotation.
