You don't have Judge in the conversation? 100% correct, forgot about him. Especially if the Yanks win the west.

Taylor Ward may be finally cooling off after crashing into the wall last week. He's under .200 over the past 7 games. He still leads the major in OPS though, by a healthy margin, which speaks to how ridiculous he was before that crash.

No way this guy hits .340 this season.

He wasn't great during his rookie year in 2019, but since then he's quietly been one of the better hitters in baseball. He just rakes.

Why isn't France more well known? I think even in Seattle he isn't that appreciated. Kyle Lewis won the ROY a couple years ago with an average season and has sucked since and he's more well known and liked the France it seems.

His name is France, which doesn't jibe with American Exceptionalism? He's built like a fullback also. He's listed at 5'11", 215 lbs. Was he a big prospect in San Diego? I know he was drafted in the 30th round or something like that but he has decent minor league numbers from the looks of it.

I was looking up his minors numbers and had to do a double take - in El Paso AAA a couple years, only 76 games but he hit .399 with 27 hrs. He's a legit .300 hitter, 30 hr guy. And he's only 27 right now.

That trade that got him to Seattle is looking like a real dud for the Padres. They got Austin Adams (60 day IL, has throw 2.1 innings), Dan Altavila (left for the Red Sox, also on the IL) and Austin Nola (hitting .226, a 32 year old catcher). Ow.

Who did Seattle give up for the great JP Crawford? It was Jean Segura, wasn't it? There were probably some sweeteners going one way of the other

That's the baseball gods trying to balance things out for the Padres after the Tatis for Big Game Shields swap. Easy come, easy go...

You don't have Judge in the conversation? Andrew Benintendi should get some votes: .314 avg; 31 rbi The way he has been hitting the past 8 weeks, I will say Julio will be in the running for MVP.
