The series starts tomorrow. No idea if anyone here is going to watch it, but I figured I'd get this thread ready incase.

I’ll watch it. I doubt I’ll be critical of it because I don’t expect it to be good. But IMO it would be difficult to be worse than any of the other Disney+ shows.

For some reason, I'm more interested in this than Moonknight or She-Hulk. Not because I think it will be good but because I think it will be terrible... so I'll watch that first episode out of sheer morbid curiosity to see if I'm wrong.

After Moon Knight and then the She-Hulk trailer, I'm actually considering watching this. At least it's a show about someone who actually wants to help people instead of an 'exploration of mental health' or a superhero crammed into a romcom script. Still looks terrible.

So I gave the first episode a shot... and I guess the MCU finally did it: they made a kiddie show.
I used to defend the MCU against accusations that it was kiddie, because simply having humor didn't mean something was kiddie imo. But this show is definitely meant for a far younger audience than me.
It's not a bad show exactly... at least if you compare it to other pre-teen shows. In fact I'd even say it's a damn good teen show. But it just wasn't what I wanted from an MCU show and so it felt shallow for me. Hopefully it will get better with the following episodes once action and drama start rolling in.

The actress they got to play Kamala is pretty spot on for the character. Say what want about the movies and shows but Marvel's casting has been going strong for a good while.
As for the first episode, it didn't bored me like Kenobi did. So that's a good start. Will have to see how the remaining episodes go on. Hopefully they stick the landing.
Also there's a post credit scene this episode.

The actress they cast for Kamala is pretty good, especially considering her age, but Phase 4 has had quite its share of divisive casting choices. Gemma Chan as Sersi, Harry Styles as Starfox, David Harbour as Alexei, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Aquafina, heck bringing back Natalie Portman... Tatiana Maslany and whoever they cast for Namor isn't exactly drawing much excitement either. Oscar Isaac gave the only truly good performance in Moonknight. Nobody liked the flag smashers or the boring leader they had (can't remember her name).

I was with it until the fantasy sequence. Then the show went full retard Diary of a Wimpy Kid. And as someone who has gone to dozens of them, I just rolled my eyes at that circus they tried to pass off as a convention.
I like the cast. I like the girl, her family, and her friend. I didn't like all the stupid animated drawing and writing shit, or her powers. Not only are they dumb but they look dumb.

Pretty good. The young actress who plays Ms. Marvel was a bit of good casting.

As for the convention scene, I've heard other people criticize it as well. Probably just a budget issue. This doesn't seem to be as much if a big-budget affair as some of the other Disney+ MCU shows, so I'm guessing they just didn't feel like hiring a bunch of people to fill out that scene.

I'm guessing Kamala either has Kree DNA or they're still keeping her as a Inhuman judging by Bruno remark about the powers coming from her body.

There’s definitely a revelation there with the great grandmother. I kind of hope it’s not a last minute reveal if it’s something interesting, so that we can see Kamala’s reaction to it. Like if she finds out her great granddaddy was Kree, so she’s like an 1/8th Kree or something.

I’m in the second episode and whereas I don’t exactly like it, it’s better than every Disney+ Marvel show.

I turned it off when the two characters started talking about classic Bollywood.

I dropped it after episode 1. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if there are any interesting cameos or whatever, otherwise I'm out.

You guys remember the “good old days” on this board when the hardcore MCU fanboys would attack anyone with a negative opinion? Good times.

Yeah well, I used to be of the opinion that there was no bad MCU product. That even the worst MCU outing was still far better than the average blockbuster. It's getting harder and harder to defend that stance now with these Phase 4 projects.

I really dig the show. Its light and fun and the main actress is very solid in this role. The pacing is one point as well. Im glad we spent almost all the first episode getting to know the cast of characters and the various non superhero plot threads before introducing the power set. The second ep moved the needle even further. The only plot I could do without is the Bruno-Kamala-Kamran love triangle.
