*Could* be sold if an unexpectedly high offer comes in. They expect him to stay, though.
Additionally it looks like Modeste will move to Taijin Quanjian, after all. And Bayern have apparently finally managed to offload Costa - to Juve, on loan with an obligation to buy.

Bayern are reportedly offloading Costa to Juve for 6m on loan with an obligation to buy for 40m after one year. This is kinda ridiculous.
Even more ridiculous is this deal.
It's reportedly a two years loan, fee 5m each year, with a option to buy for 35m thereafter. I'm not really sure whether to believe that.

Oh, and lest I forget. The Modeste deal is off again. Apparently the Chinese tried to get Modeste into some really shady business to avoid the new transfer tax, and he got cold feet at the last minute.

I'm not really sure whether to believe that. this is what i actually came here for. i see this as a low risk signing. apart from a few million, Bayern have nothing to lose if it deosn't work out - and can buy him for a relatively low price if it does. he is, of course, another midfielder. but Gnabry wants to go on loan, and following the James signing, I'm sure Bayern are happy to oblige. Rummenigge said yesterday, that they will wait to see what happens re: signings, before they can make that decision.

More transfer news: Amine Harit from Nante to Schalke Ron Robert Zieler from Leicester to Stuttgart.

Bild says 35m, and they are usually pretty well informed. But I suppose Marca should be in regards to Real news as well. Maybe it can go up to 60m following bonus payments.

Marca has corrected the numbers downwards, now reporting 2x5m plus 40m.

So Bayern wasted their money on ReaL's rummage table and got them rid of their useless trash. I'm sure Tedi or Woolworth can provide them with cheap and useless stuff too.
Alles scheiße.
I guess I will read Griezmann's Wikipedia article once more...
PS: ...and of course a damn South American...dos Santos, Breno, Santa Cruz, Dante...didn't we have enough of these no show guys?!

It worked out pretty well when we got Robben from Real's rummage table, didn't it? And it's hardly a big risk to sign James on loan. He's not the "Granate" many expected (winner of the most overused and irritating word this summer), but I'm sure he'll add value to our squad from day one. Remember how little creativity we had when Thiago was injured or having a bad game? With James, we'll have another player in our ranks that can shoulder this responsiblity. In any case, I'm willing to give him a chance before writing him off straight away. And regarding the South Americans: Yes, those guys you mentioned were terrible transfers (you forgot Sosa ). But we also had guys like Jorginho, Elber, Paulo Sergio, Lucio and Pizarro... Plus, we had plenty of German no-shows over the years as well: Frings, Podolski, Götze, Schlaudraff, Rau, Jansen, Borowski, Görlitz, etc. - so no need to be so dismissive towards players from a certain country and much less from an entire continent.

Robben was and had always been out of our reach if it hadn't been for his fragile health. This was the reason why we had a chance to sign him at all: it was a huge bet on his future, and it paid more than off. And like you said: it no risk, for it is worth nothing. Signing a player like Griezmann had been bold, had been a mark. Rodriguez, however, is cheap, no risk and he won't help us. Keep a screen-shot and talk to me after the season again. Maybe you're right, maybe not. And as for creativity: even Zidane wanted to get rid of him because with him the game has been to static - for me the anti-thesis of creative. Last but not least: it not South American players per se, but this idea to sign "talents" for a small fee and turn them to big star and cash in big time...that was Uli's gambling projects before he went for his stock broker adventures. Neymar...that had been a signing. And we had great South Americans, but they came for hard cash as full developed players (=> Lucio etc. pp.).

Neymar...that had been a signing. And we had great South Americans, but they came for hard cash as full developed players (=> Lucio etc. pp.). I am, of course, aware of the circumstances of why we were able to sign Robben. I was just making a point that players on the rummage table are not always automatic busts. Man... Robben and Ribery were/are the best signings of my lifetime so far. It's going to be so damn sad to see them retire. What a fantastic run we've had with them so far. What absolute champions. *seufz* Sure, Griezmann would've been a bold and great signing, raising us another level up in terms of attractive destination for bonafide stars. But what can I say? I don't love but understand the board's conservative decision making process. Hoping instead of (pretty much) knowing a new signing is going to work out sucks. But I'd rather carry on this way. It kinda makes the bigger wins seem, dare I say, more honest. Agreed on your points re: the South American gambles vs. developed players. But James already proved himself, albeit 2-3 years ago. All in all, I believe we were able to strengthen our squad this summer. We didn't make a big jump, but I'm happy with the progress and think we have a good chance to win the upcoming CL. We just need some luck on our side and our killer instinct from 2013.

Sven Bender moves from Dortmund to Leverkusen.
Don't know what Bayer want with yet another perma-injured Bender. Also wondering how Heiko Herrlich will manage to tell those two apart.

my theory is that they are the same person, so one of them always has to be "injured" in order for him to be able to play for only one of the clubs at a time. "both" of them now being at Bayer just makes it easier for the poor guy, cutting out his commute.
