Well it IS Texas after all, so you have to expect stupidity from the male population.

Being horrified and angry is an overreaction, but just imagine if they had a male-only screening for Thor Ragnarok later this year? The whole world would lose their minds!

Well it's comical because for years, women have complained about men only organizations. They insist on being a part of the Boy Scouts for instance. Now personally I'm all for "_____ only groups" being who they are, and I'm for them having their own screening, but get women out of Boy Scouts or I'm not going to care about women complaining about a few men complaining.

While I do think the idea of having an all-female screening for the movie is a kind of cynical publicity stunt, I really don't think it's worth any kind of outrage. I'm a man, and I honestly don't care about some one/two-night screening that's specifically for women. Unless the theater decides to start banning men from seeing the movie altogether, it's not worth getting angry over.

I don't really have an opinion on this one way or the other. As a woman, I've never been for anything that sets the genders apart or against each other but, I don't balk at my sisters who feel differently. I was just interested in what people had to say about this story. SaveSaveSaveSave

The controversy over this is stupid. In the area i grew up a local independent theater did special nights, including a girls only night. In fact when 300 came out, they did a men's only night for it. No one cared or made a big stink about it.

Or guys going out camping for a weekend, just to act like guys? I think those are great things actually. It's just in a world where women have pushed themselves into groups like the boy scouts, women turning around and calling guys whiners is sort of the pot calling the kettle black.

No, not at all although, I don't think same-sex activities are something that is necessarily praiseworthy or that should be reviled either. It's just a thing that happens sometimes. If a bunch of ladies want to get together to celebrate the first female-led superhero film, more power to them. I just don't think that would be something I was interested in. I wouldn't be against it either mind you. I just don't have any strong feelings about the screening one way or the other. SaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSave

I have no problem with it at all, but I have to ask... why? I mean, what exactly is having an all-female screening supposed to accomplish?

It's not like the crowd will be interacting with each other a lot during the show. Though I guess the energy might feel different with a pure female crowd... but then aren't audiences for romcoms mostly female anyway? Sorry, nothing wrong with it of course. I'm just imagining what a pure male movie audience would feel like and I'm thinking, it won't really make a difference.

There would be solidarity in celebrating a long awaited milestone for women with women. WW is the first significant female-led superhero film. It's not so hard to imagine or understand is it?

Sorry, but that is a dumb idea. See the cute little orange kitty in my avatar? I kitty napped him from my back yard Memorial Day Weekend 2010 & after much debate, my daughter suggested Thor because she knows I have been a Thor fangirl since I was a child in the 1960s because she wanted to call him Uthor after a character in a game at the time (WoW?) Point being, Thor has a lot of fangirls. Thor & Loki. The venue has sold out at least one showing, maybe 2 so it's not losing money for them Because yeah, it's so much fun getting hit on by guys when you're just out to enjoy some girl power. And tell me they wouldnt get hit on

Because for years women HAVE been excluded. I could care less about boy scouts because there are girl scouts, but the men's clubs where power deals are brokered is a different matter.
