At least this KD meltdown should cease the player as GM as CEO era. If KD couldn't get it done, a team isn't going to give the keys to Zion or Ja.

The other part - KD's 2 titles with GSW probably doesn't feel personally special to him, rather bucket list check offs. If he goes to Phoenix, & wins a title 2yrs from now with Booker & CP3... is he really going to retire loving his rings? Doubtful.

And he's not playing in Toronto this year. Grant Hill has to be one of the saddest 'What if' cases outside of guys who died (Bias, Petrovic, Lewis for example). And busts are just busts. They weren't as good as we thought, that's different from a guy who lived up to the hype when he was out on the court, but devastating injuries killed the middle of his career. You could say the same for Walton, but he at least was an MVP and won a couple titles. Hill never really accomplished anything outside of all-star appearances, despite being an elite talent and complete player at both ends. Mourning was a 2x DPOY and eventually won a title as a role player. Yao, I never had high expectations for. A solid player when he was healthy, nothing spectacular. It's a joke that he's in the HOF, and I'm not usually someone who cares about that stuff all that much.

If he goes to Phoenix, & wins a title 2yrs from now with Booker & CP3... is he really going to retire loving his rings? Doubtful. That's the way most players think now. I think all of Lebron's titles are checklist fodder for him, especially the LA one. These guys bounce around now, looking for the best marketing opportunity they can find. A super team gives them more media exposure and gets them closer to checking a title off the list, they don't actually care. If they loved the game and wanted work hard at it, these super teams would last longer than two years. All Leonard did in Toronto was win a title! Why would he want to do that again when he could go live the LA lifestyle and convince another all-star to whine his way out of town to join him. I acknowledge the talent of players like Durant, Kyrie, Harden, Simmons, etc., but their mindset is terrible. These guys don't give a shit about the game and it shows. I can't imagine being a fan of those guys. As much as I dislike the Warriors, those dudes (Curry, Thompson, Green) love basketball and they care about winning. They've kept that team together when it could've been easy to blow it up and start over, or search out greener pastures with new all-star teammates elsewhere. Appreciate them while you can, I don't know how many guys like that we'll see again.

Yao is in more for his other stuff and expanding the NBA to few hundred million rabid rans before Darryl Morey's monkey wrench. He was nominated by a member of the Chinese media as a contributor to the game.

Looney staying, Otto Porter to the Raptors.
I would have thought with Wiseman coming back, they'd have kept Payton and let Looney get paid elsewhere.
Bjelica's off to Europe, so I suppose this makes sense.

Love the trade. We got Brogdon for a pile of trash (Daniel Theis, Aaron Nesmith, Juwan Morgan, Malik Fitts and Nik Stauskas and next year's first, which in theory will be later first anyway), doesn't get any better than that.

Hopefully the kid can stay healthy, but that's a huge addition without any subtraction.

If Masai trades for KD & the Raptors win the title... Masai gets a statue inside of the HOF entrance.
