On top of everything, most people don't think to factor in things like an actor's agent, if they have a manager, a publicist or anyone else that effectively works for them; that all comes out of their pocket. A lot of actors have talked about how it can be like they're their own little private business. So whatever any actor gets paid on TV or movie, there can be a a lot of extra expenses that erode a lot of those larger salaries. I can't imagine how actors on Days could manage to live anywhere near LA, have at least their agent get 10% and possibly more, plus taxes, all on $60k a year.
I've heard Katee Sackhoff and other actors who've starred in long running shows, talk about how often people assume they must be rolling in it; and they're like, that money's long gone. And even residuals now aren't what they used to be, not that's much if any factor for soap actors. Streaming platforms just royally screw the actors; because obviously they're not going to pay per viewing or whatever, the way broadcast reruns would pay x-amount an episode aired. But it's still such a disproportionate arrangement, the actors aren't getting much if anything now for residuals. Charisma Carpenter from Buffy/Angel has talked about how a lot of her income lately comes from doing conventions, which took a hard hit during the height of lockdown. Now you have sites like Cameo.

A lot of the actors from shows pre streaming services have been screwed with the royalties. I was listening to Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling talk about 90210. How they made no money from the merch and the dolls and stuff. today that would be unheard of. They also get cheques for like 9 cents for residuals now...
