If I recall right, from historians, many Books/Stories/Knowledge ended up making it to the library in one form or another...
Everyone wonders how the pyramids in Egypt were built... I'll be honest here, I wouldn't be surprised at all, if copies of the "blue prints" were destroyed there.
Book burning in WWII, probably robbed the world of more ancient knowledge as well.
I really wonder what our world would be like today, if NONE of those books were destroyed...

The last pyramid was built about 1600 years before the library burnt - that would have been a long time for that information to have been preserved.

I try to be an optimist about such things, and it's a miracle what has survived, (books, music, painting, all of art, of Civilization at its best, and I think about this and thankful for it every day of my life)
