Well, we're supposed to have a World Cup going on now. But nooooooo. Starts in November.
There's baseball, and cricket (I think, don't hold me to it) and various drafts (this counts for entertainment?), and who knows what else.
But there's no excuse for this. I saw what looked like grown adults playing tag on what looked like a child's jungle jim this morning. Yup, we're down to that. Get to those boxing matches between guys I've never heard of already.
So, I thought I'd ask who was going to watch the season premiere of the new Westworld series. Anybody? Where could this wacky series possibly go next? It drops tomorrow night on HBO.

I actually enjoyed season three, I think because I didn't watch season 2. That isn't exactly a glowing recommendation. It felt like a reboot of the series. It was up and down, and as much as I enjoyed it, I have no interest in season 4. Might check out an episode eventually and see if I can get into it.

Didn't know there was anything called Westworld till I read this topic. But after searching for more, I came to know about Yul Brynner's movie by same name which I will like to see soon.

The sequel to the Westworld film in on TV here next week. It’s called Futureworld. I’ll give it a watch. The film Westworld is great.

I wouldn't call it great (Richard Benjamin's acting is bizarre - - he doesn't seem to be bothered by anything that happens in the final fifteen minutes of the movie), but it is a fun watch.

Watched the first season, can't even remember if I watched the second. I thought it was ok but never really caught my interest.

I enjoyed seasons 1-3. I’m looking forward to season 4. Yes the narrative is complicated and at times convoluted, but overall I think the series is fun. I thought they did a good job in season 3 transitioning the story out of WestWorld the park. Interesting in seeing where it goes next.

I cancelled my nowtv subscription after the Barry finale. I may catch the premier if Season 4 before it runs out but more likely will just wait and watch the whole season at some point.
I thought season 3 was a partial bounce back after season 2, although the ending was really bad. I suspect more making it up as they go along will finally kill this show after this season though...

I had Now TV but binned it a while back. I initially liked Barry, but found it became increasing tasteless to be honest.

I watched S1 because it seemed like the popular new thing to watch while GOT wasn't on. I was somewhat interested in the mystery of the maze type stuff. It was okay, but much like Mad Men or Breaking Bad it never hooked me. I remember I watched the S2 premiere but quit after that. I just had zero interest in any of the characters going forward. Out of curiosity I checked out the trailer for the upcoming season and it just doesn't seem like its going anywhere that would have me interested.
It has been a bad time for TV for me in recent years. Just nothing new that gets my attention and if it does it doesn't last past a second season. Its gotten to a point where I don't bother investing in a new show until it gets like 4 seasons in already then I'll binge watch.

I also like season three. Sooner or later an AI will emerge, and we can only hope it will be a benevolent one like Dolores. hence. I made a guess that she will not destroy humanity but save it and become some kind of Spartacus figure. Of course the season was not perfect: That we have five copies of Dolores, and not five different AIs, that Serac is far too overpowered, and I also don't believe, that even the smartest AI can predict and control all of humanity and its fate. The outliners, the Hitlers and the Einstein, will, for good or for bad, determine the path our species. But this super AI couldn't fathom their part, and so he hunted them down - leaving humanity bereft for its greatest assets: the ingenuity of its greatest minds. Even the designer of Rehoboam is such an outliner. How will evil Dolores be defeated, what will Bernard discover, or what evolutionary step will the AIs have made in the Sublime (time passes much faster there then in our reality), maybe they found the key to the survival of both species. www.denofgeek.com/tv/westworld-season-3-ending-explained/Season one was the awakening, season two was the breaking free from their prison, season was about defeating the status quo with Rehoboam in control, executing his futile plan, or lack of, to save the world; also by holding the humanity back. season four might be about how both species can survive and co-exist. "As Caleb finds out when Serac has him ask Rehoboam what the “Final Strategy” is, it involves mass extinction events for the next 6-10 years, followed by population collapses, and then the ultimate end of humanity within 50-125 years. At first Caleb is understandably horrified that Dolores would manipulate him into enacting such a plan. But as it turns out the “Final Strategy” isn’t a plan at all but rather the absence of one. The Final Strategy removes Rehoboam from the equation entirely and lets humanity act on its own. " Rehoboam was just prolonging the inevitable, the extinction of the human race. Doloros, the other AIs and the outliners, might be the game changer. So season four could offer something

Aaron Paul is very uninspiring. Yeah, one of the great weaknesses of the show. Lightyears away from Dr. Ford/Anthony Hopkins. Also the weakest link in Breaking Bad.
