Thought this was interesting. This infamous episode of Sessame Street was deemed too scary at the time and was lost since the 70s. It recently been discovered and put out.

The more that I watch the interaction between David and the witch, the more that I am on David's side. I don't blame him for standing up for himself when her broom came down on him right up out of nowhere. Also, with it being 1976, letting her get away with treating him like dirt I guess would have only been a step backwards where treatment of African Americans is concerned anyway. God bless you always!!! Holly (a girl who will forever love the late beautiful precious masterpiece of a gentleman who gave us David) P.S. Go here to check out the album that was done of his singing two years later. Eight of the twelve songs were written by him including the first two and the final three.....I'll never have enough of Northern Calloway which is his real name.

I watched the episode on Father's Day after someone had uploaded it online. I can understand the backlash when the episode first aired, but suppressing it for decades when much more darker content is readily available was unnecessary.
Other than that, I can't say I liked the story that much. I don't think holding onto other people's property until they apologize is a good way to stand up for yourself. Also, it should have been ended with the letters of the day being O and Z.

People are always telling me that kids in the 70a were tougher than kids today. Meanwhile, this was too scary for kids in the 70s.

God bless you always!!! Holly
