Now that 2022 is half over, how has it been for you so far? Any highlights/lowlights this year in your life?

It's passed very quickly no longer having to be a caregiver for my grandmother, I get more done every day than I've been able to in years, I'm still tired but not burnt out all the time. It just got to a point I dreaded going to sleep at night because I knew as soon as it was morning, had to do the same thing all over again. I have finally been able to tackle projects I have put off for YEARS because there was never time to do it or if I had the time I didn't have the energy or the interest.

Personal: Pretty good--my health continues to improve since I've been undergoing treatment for my TMJ issues. Family: Also pretty good, except one of my kids needs a serious boot in the buns to get his life back on track (and since he's chronologically an adult, I'm not sure I'm the best one to administer that boot. Just so nobody worries, he's not a criminal, and as far as I know, not physically ill. Nor is he addicted to any illegal drug.). Business: I feel like Tiana in The Princess and the Frog: "almost there." Political: On the one hand, it could hardly be worse. On the other hand, there's some glimmer of hope--and since this isn't the Politics forum, that's as specific as I'm going to get. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/wcpsuo2ah/bigrazz.gif) (For a hint as to my general outlook, read my "Status" field.)

Great.I came close to dying in 2021 from Covid-19. And I mean very close. Now I am back to normal and riding my bikes 10-25 miles a day weather permitting. Grilling food, watching movies, fishing, having lunch at the lake and a fantastic girlfriend. Life is good!

Terrible. I had to quit two jobs. My brother died. I really hope things don't go downhill more for me. I've just learned doesn't have throat cancer anymore, so things are on the upswing.

Highly mediocre. My grandmother passed in late January, but that was a long time coming. Not that you ever *want* them to pass, but she was suffering, albeit not pain wise (as far as we know) and it was a tremendous burden on my mom. We got a chance to say goodbye, so that was good.
My anxiety is hitting new heights with a bunch of shit in my personal life and the state of the world. Starting to affect me in physical ways I didn't think were even possible.
But on the bright side, everything else is fine. Not great, mind you, but not terrible.

Lucky you, there "down under'. Up here it is different Different SDD. I am SICK of politics! Me, too. At this stage of the game (of my life), I find simply following politics, reading about current events, beyond feeling hopeless; closer to repulsive. I'd rather watch a well-made Gothic horror, get real joy, shake and shiver when it's thunder and lightning, than watch or read the evening. news. (And yes, I know the old expression,--and it's true--"you may not care for politics, but politics cares for you". So I do vote, and pay some attention to what's going on in the world, but I try not to get involved in it as a personal level, let it drag me down. There's hopelessness floating around in the air, and I don't want to breathe it in.)

Uneventful, but I've been oddly content. For years, I was always running after the next place to explore, the next adrenaline rush or mountain to climb. I was almost finished with my bucket list when the pandemic started, and then I had to learn to sit still again. I used to think that happiness was in the pursuit of it, in the journey, but this year I've found more of an internal peace, and I don't need to chase after anything at all. I'm satisfied with where I am, what I've done, and the person I've become. It's kind of a strange feeling, like being finished. Or, it could just be a plateau until the next phase of life begins. Time will tell.

So far - so good! Still working remotely, which is fine for me as I'm saving money on fuel and wear and tear on my car. Then again, with the fuel prices the way they are.... ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) The plan is to go back into the office a couple of days a week. A couple of my co-workers have gone back into the office. Don't know what the plan is for me as of yet. With regards to recreational activities: Bowling: We got thru a whole season! Right at the beginning of the calendar year, because of the uptick of amount of cases, non-essential services were closed for the first 3 weeks of January. Season was shorted by those 3 weeks, which led to some being disgruntled by it. But, it was what it was. Don't they think the owners WANTED to stay open? Then again, for a couple of members, they're not happy unless they're complaining about SOMETHING. Hockey (spectator): Because of the shutdown at the beginning of January, the league promised to us that there would be a full season played. Up until about January 20th, games were still played, but to no fans in attendance. Between January 21st and February 21st, restrictions were lifted a little bit. Capacity was capped at 50% of max capacity or 500 people. As the rink is about 9000 seats, it was capped at 500 people. And, the only ones in attendance would season ticket holders - much like myself. Because of this, tickets were drawn on a lottery basis among season ticket holders. Either way, we were notified if we were successful or not. For each of the games, I was NOT successful. For the games I could not attend (for either reason), I wasn't worried - I was reimbursed for the tickets I did not use. Didn't matter to me - the games were on TV, so I could watch my team that way. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) After February 21st for the next 4 weeks, ALL indoor venues could operate at 50% capacity. As such, still, only season ticket holders could attend. I thought it was weird because the season ticket holder number is...close to 7000. How they were going to make that work....wasn't my issue. I had a season ticket, so I was allowed in! BUT, the stipulation was put on that all attendees had to have at LEAST 2 doses of the vaccine administered. Since I had 2 plus a booster, I was good to go! Just had to show proof of this upon entry. Season didn't turn out the way we all thought it would (team was bounced out in the first round of playoffs), but I'm looking forward to next season already! Softball (Slo-Pitch): Right now, we are half way thru the season. It is a 10 team league, so each team plays 18 games (2 times against each team). Last year, we didn't get started until about this time because of the uptick of cases at the beginning of the year. I can't remember the stipulation of being eligible to play. I know I didn't get my 2nd shot until a couple of weeks into the season. Still - it's good to get out of the house once a week. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Joker's Wilde

A normal healthy person or suffering from obesity? Also by bike you mean motorcycle or cycle? Congrats on getting out of covid thing. 2 of my healthy relatives in 30s died because of it.
