I've never read any book by a female author by choice, anybody else never?
I've read a collection of short stories that had some stories by females though. Mostly not though.
I read things by them only in school , I had to.

You are contradicting yourself.
First you say you have never read a female author than you say you did it in school
So you have read a female author.

I would say also, that I wouldn't be totally against reading a book by a female author by choice.
I might actually do just that, just to see what that would actually be like.
I would predict, that if I did that, I would get what it would be like to read a book by a female author. But after that I would just go back to only reading male authors.

Right now I am reading "The Left Hand Of Darkness" by Ursula K. Le Guin. Le Guin is also the author of the Earthsea Trilogy for younger readers. I have not only read that twice for myself but twice more out loud - every word - for each of my two children as they got old enough.
Also Connie Willis for science fiction.
And here are some super female authors of my favorite kind of mystery novel: the American Private Eye:
Marcia Muller Sue Grafton Linda Barnes
Also: Ruth Rendell, Margaret Maron, S. J. Rozan. P.D. James is another very popular woman writer of mysteries but I never cared much for the ones I read.
