I mean rent to own , like if you pay monthly payments like... to own a house.
Because, here's what I don't get. If you have enough money to buy a condo. then why wouldn't you buy a house instead you'd have more privacy.
I mean, either one is better than renting sure. But I'm saying, both a condominium and the average small house cost the same to own right? Roughly 300 thousand dollars. Either one will take the average person 30 or more years to pay off.

I had some friends who did this. They had HORRIBLE credit scores. It was the only way to get a toe hold

There are some advantages, like not having to take care of a yard

I was approved for a 170,000 home loan earlier this year. I can't buy a home for that but I can buy a condo for that around here. Still, I decided to keep renting instead.
In a few years if I still can't get enough to buy a house I'll probably go the condo route.
