So, anyone watch this?
I could barely get into it the first season, but I think I'm starting to like it in the second season (with exception to the super-corny moments like Lucifer singing and having that kid on the show). I heard there's a third season upcoming, so I hope it continues to improve. Where all the Lucifer fans at?

It's a perfect night for mystery and horror. The air itself is filled with monsters.

I really like Tom Ellis in the main role. I think they picked a perfect actor for the role.
However, I’m not impressed at all with Lauren German’s role as Chloe Decker. For me, she’s a notch below ‘meh.’ In fact, her character could be killed off and replaced with another actress and I would not be disappointed.

So, I started watching the show and by the end of the first episode I was pretty into it. Tom Ellis does a good job of playing a character type that we’ve seen so often (maybe not ‘the Devil’ so much as just that typical ‘bad boy’ character who’s charming, witty/delivers rapid fire one-liners, breaks the rules, can be 'bad' but is still able to ‘care’ as well), but without coming off as annoying like so many others do. Having seen this type of character in many different shows, that shtick had started to get a bit old/stale, but he makes it seem ‘fresh’. The other contributing factor in my enjoyment of the show is Lauren German as Chloe Decker. I’ve seen her in a few things, though mainly knew her from Chicago Fire (where her character was written off in such a lousy way – that show did a major disservice to both the actress and the character she portrayed. Since they’d underutilized her, it's good that she’s moved onto bigger and better things). The chemistry between Lucifer and Chloe was almost immediately evident, and I think they play off each other really well. One thing I really like about Lucifer is he seems to have the same attitude towards children as I do – which is to say, he’s not overly fond of them. Though obviously he did manage to bond with Chloe’s daughter pretty fast, and surprisingly the kid doesn’t irritate like most child characters in shows/movies do. Of course, that could eventually change, but at the moment she’s tolerable. Plus, I enjoy the fact that Lucifer is telling/teaching her things he probably shouldn’t be. I also really enjoy Chloe’s reactions to Lucifer. Not only the things he’s teaching her daughter, but just the things he says in general. Lauren German gives some great reaction shots. The other characters haven’t left much of an impression as yet. I know you like Lesley-Ann Brandt, HirundoRustica – but so far, to me, the only purpose she seems to serve is acting as that little devil on...well...the Devil’s shoulder, telling him to be “bad”. Meanwhile, I feel sorry for DB Woodside who seems to only show up every episode to tell Lucifer to go (back) to Hell. Hopefully these characters develop more personality/depth as the show goes on. I don’t hate Chloe’s ex (not yet anyway), but he’s not particularly interesting either. As for Lucifer’s therapist...his interactions with her are somewhat amusing, but it could wear thin after a while in they don’t switch things up a bit between them. At the moment, I’m mainly watching for Lucifer and Chloe, as I enjoy their interactions the most.

Chalice_Of_Evil It's been a while since I watched s1 (we're in the middle of s3 here at the moment), so it was nice to see those^ GIFs/pics and be reminded of earlier episodes. I do think the show keeps on evolving and getting better. I enjoyed s1, but like someone else said, s2 was even better, and I'm really enjoying s3. It's one of the few shows I watch the day it's on instead of waiting for days and days, and I always look forward to a new episode. I like all the characters, especially Lucifer and Chloe. Detective Douche (as Lucifer loves to call him, heheh) grows on you after a while, as do the rest of the characters.

I enjoyed the hell out of seasons 1 & 2 (pun very well intended), but I'm not feeling season 3. At all.
So far I find it made up mainly of fillers and all the progress made by Lucifer the previous seasons has been reset in order to keep the formula intact. I'm really bummed.

Chalice, did you just start this? You'll probably enjoy season 1. there's some really great episodes. Yes, indeed I did. That’s^ good to hear. I’m looking forward to it. I finally got around to watching the next two episodes of Lucifer (the reason I’m not already through all of Season 1 is because I’ve got SO MANY DVDs/Blu-rays of different shows to watch, that my viewing is spread out over umpteen different series – plus, I want to make Lucifer last for a while, since once I finish Season 2...I’ll probably be waiting some time for Season 3 to be released here). I don’t remember much of episode 3, but I certainly remember episode 4 – the episode starting with Lauren German/Chloe in the shower (and then a towel) probably had something to do with that. I’m sure Chloe, in nothing but a towel, creeping around her house whilst pointing a gun was 100% necessary to the plot. Lucifer really needs to learn about 'boundaries'. I actually felt sorry for Chloe when her ex turned up and, given how things looked, he jumped to obvious conclusions. She’s done nothing to encourage this behavior from Lucifer, and now her ex is thinking she’s been doing all sorts of naughty things with him. Though Lucifer’s awkwardness around Chloe’s daughter still amuses me. I liked how he attempted to get her off/away from him when she gave him a hug. I’ve really been enjoying Lauren German’s reactions as Chloe to all the seemingly ‘weird’ (for her) things Lucifer says. Some of her double-takes have been very amusing. I also like how baffled Lucifer’s been by her not falling for his charms, yet at the same time he’s highly intrigued. At least he decided to even things out a bit by showing himself in the buff (since he’d gotten to see her nekkid). She didn’t seem...unimpressed either. It’s amusing...so long as you don’t overthink it (here’s this guy who barges into her home uninvited, impedes her investigations, seems to be stalking her, exposes himself to her and tells her he wants her to sleep with him, managing to turn everything she says into a come-on – that’s the sort of behavior which I’m pretty sure would usually get one arrested...so it’s just as well he helps her with cases just as often as he seemingly messes things up for her). I really do think both actors have chemistry, and I liked that the scene of naked Lucifer started out light-hearted, but got quite serious once Chloe noticed his back wounds and tried to touch them. I look forward to getting more backstory of the whole having-his-wings-cut-off thing. I’m glad Chloe is thinking about all the weird stuff she’s seen Lucifer do combined with what he’s been telling her this whole time. Naively, I thought maybe they were going to have her come to the realization Lucifer had been telling the truth...except then they pulled the trick Smallville would often use where Lex was about to have proof Clark was an alien, only for Clark to conveniently be rendered ‘human’ at that exact moment. So Lucifer’s bleeding makes it hard for Chloe to believe he’s ‘immortal’ like he’s been claiming. I did enjoy Lucifer’s reaction to feeling pain – though I felt sorry for Chloe after he made her shoot him, as she clearly felt horrible about it. The confusion she must be feeling about everything Lucifer, I imagine, would be exceptionally frustrating for her. I do wonder, though, how long her protestations of never ever sleeping with him will last. One season? Two? I like all the characters, especially Lucifer and Chloe. Detective Douche (as Lucifer loves to call him, heheh) grows on you after a while, as do the rest of the characters. I’m still not really interested in any of the other characters as yet. Their scenes felt like distractions from the main plot and the two characters I actually *am* interested in/*do* care about. Hopefully the other characters will indeed get more interesting as the season goes on. At the moment, I'm in this strictly for Lucifer and Chloe. I do find this^ happens on occasion with certain shows. They start off with a rather ‘basic’ premise, and over the course of however many seasons, the grow and change, developing things/showing progress...but then they reach a certain point where they feel the need to ‘regress’ back to the ‘simplicity’ of earlier seasons and in so doing they lose the development/progress they’ve made. I’m not sure if that’s^ what you meant, but it does sound familiar to other shows I’ve watched. Still, I’m way off from seeing Season 3 at this point, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see for myself. One question I do have: What has Tom Welling (Clark from Smallville) been like in the show? As I heard he was going to be in Season 3.

My impression is that the writers are already at an impasse. I think that Tom Welling is doing good with what he's being given, which so far, to be honest, is not much. I never watched Smallville, so I can't make any direct comparison.

Yes, like redpyramidthing said, Tom Welling has been good so far with what little he has had to work with. Just as we were starting to get a closer look at Tom Welling's character in the show and find out a bit more about him the show went on a break here, and won't be back with new eps until March.

That is good news indeed. Season 3 wasn't the best season, but I would've been majorly pissed off if the season 3 finale turned out to be the series finale. Now that Netflix has picked it up we'll at least get a resolution to that cliffhanger they ended season 3 on.

Yeah, excellent news. Since Netflix picked it up, potentially the cancellation by Fox could be the best thing that ever happened to Lucifer.
I expect a lot of differences and remains to be seen if the entire cast will be on board, but I'm excited by the potential of this.

I've FINALLY gotten back to watching Season 1 of Lucifer on DVD after having gotten sidetracked by watching many other shows on DVD/Blu-ray. I really wanted to at least finish Season 1 of this show before the year was over. I've watched episodes 7-9, and I thought episode 9 titled 'A Priest Walks Into a Bar' was the best/most memorable of the bunch. What I liked most about this episode was the friendship which developed between Lucifer and Father Frank the priest (I knew a Father Frank once...he was far grumpier than this Father Frank. I actually liked this Father Frank). All the inappropriate jokes Lucifer was spouting at him got rather annoying after a while, but Father Frank just shrugged them off. I really enjoyed the scene where they played piano together and you could tell Lucifer was begrudgingly starting to like the guy. So, of course, Father Frank had to die (sacrificing himself for the kid who didn't really deserve it, I must say). I thought both Tom Ellis and the actor playing Father Frank did a really good job throughout the episode, but especially in this^ scene where Lucifer realised at the end that Father Frank knew who he really was. It takes a good guest star to be able to convincingly build some sort of a relationship with a main cast member within such a small space of time - but that's what happened here. He may have only appeared in the one episode, but he made a memorable impression which I think will have lasting impact on Lucifer. So kudos to the Father Frank actor (and to Tom Ellis for believably playing Lucifer as someone who grew to care about this man in such a short time). The next really good scene was Lucifer getting mad at God. Not since Martin Sheen's Jed Bartlet yelled at God in The West Wing have I watched a scene like this that was actually quite effective (I've watched similar scenes in other things, but they haven't been nearly as good). Lastly, I continue to watch this show mainly for Lucifer and Chloe because I enjoy their growing friendship, and I especially liked the scene with them near the end of this episode where Lucifer was playing the piano, mourning his new lost friend, and Chloe joined him simply to be of comfort/a friend. I also liked the fact that all she knew how to play on the piano was 'Heart and Soul' (the tune I'm fairly sure most people first learn). I like that tune, have heard it in many things, and was very happy to hear them both playing it here. A nice (almost) ending to the episode. Now onto episode 10 and the rest!

Finished the last 3 episodes of Season 1 recently.
**spoilers below**
I’m sure all the Chloe haters were delighted with the way Lucifer treated her after he became suspicious of her and thought she was a ‘trap’ for him. He was mildly insulting her, shoving her out of the way (like when the Devil worshipers were getting on his nerves, he just opened the door, pretty much whacking Chloe with it – though that episode did allow for an amusing moment with Lucifer objecting to being associated with goats). Like she pointed out to him, he’d been making not-so-subtle innuendos about getting into her pants from day one, so it *was* strange for him to suddenly be avoiding her like the plague (she wasn’t just being egotistical or anything). I myself didn’t like seeing them spending less time together, since the main reason I watch the show is for their interaction/dynamic.
I think the only time I liked Maze all season was when she and Chloe were avoiding getting shot at and one of them was on top of the other and Maze conceded that she could understand why Lucifer liked being partnered with her.
Any people who badmouth Lauren German’s acting really should’ve taken note of her reaction when Chloe found out her daughter, Trixie, had been taken by the villain of the season – Malcolm. She really sold that moment, I thought. I was glad to see her off him. Yes, Lucifer distracted him, but I was glad that she got to be the one to send him (back) to Hell.
I liked this show’s brief glimpse of Hell (it certainly beats what the version of Hell in Supernatural has become – which is sad, since it started off interesting back in the Season 3 final). I’m interested in Lucifer’s mum escaping. Anyway, Season 1 was quite fun, hopefully Season 2 will be even better (whenever I get around to watching it).
