I was ONLY 7-years-old back in 2002 and don’t remember this nor wasn’t I even old enough to watch MTV back then…but stuff like this REALLY MAKES ME MISS the Early-2000’s.
America seemed much more happier and much more chill and much more conservative back then and the fanbase was much happier and was far more united and far less divided back then. This video also takes back to how cool MTV USE TO BE before it got all WOKE.
This video ALSO DISPROVES the misconception that people “hated” Star Wars Episodes I and II when they came out and SHOWS how much people LOVED The Phantom Menace back then and HOW POPULAR the movie was back then.
Like they say: popularity breeds hate and I think that’s what happened with the Prequels after the Early-2000’s…a small section of the fanbase and the general movie public couldn’t stand the fact the Prequels were popular and couldn’t quite grasp why they were so well-liked or why anyone would like them. That or the Late-90’s/Early-2000’s were probably such a shitty time for them so they decided to take their hatred and negative energy out on a couple of movies made for families and felt the need to do whatever they could to change the general consensus of the Prequels as more time went on and the Internet got bigger and much widespread and much more popular and the dark times with the popularity of people like the Red Letter Media and Nostalgia Critic and before Disney bought Star Wars and before the popularity and existence of stuff like the MCU.

Like they say: popularity breeds hate and I think that’s what happened with the Prequels after the Early-2000’s I don't believe that's the case at all - a LOT of fans either hated or were simply shocked by how bad TPM was when it came out. That's not to say everyone disliked it though - I remember one of my mates little brother absolutely loved it. It had me and my friends in stitches at the time as he genuinely thought Jar Jar was amazing! Whereas for us it was like that episode of the Simpsons with Poochie. Still in a way that was great to see as you could see the next generation of kids were getting their version of Star Wars to love just as much as we'd loved the OT...

America started to really change post 9/11. I always say that there was life before 9/11, and then there was life after it. Two distinctive periods. If you were too young or weren't born yet, unfortunately I don't think you'll ever get to experience what America was like then. It only gets darker now, the people disillusioned/angrier/divided.

I remember that. I think there was a screening of the movie at Skywalker Ranch.
