If it's not changed then there's always a risk of this forum being taken down no matter how "innocent" it might be.

It depends. If you're going to focus a lot on movies, then keep the name.
If not, change it to something more fitting to a general forum. Such as, Internet Multi-topic Discussion board.

Yes, I think we should change the name, but I don't know what we should change it to.

I think we should focus on building the other forum. I am currently speaking with the admin of this forum and he is going to contribute too. I built the structure so nobody have to pay for a good forum yet, have more power and control to shape it and make it grow.

This seems like a direct competitor to this one (IMDb v 2.0) and so far I find IMDb v 2.0 better. This one has more members already. The more members, the more chances that it will prevail. I'd stick with this one. Besides this one has all general boards and the one you're advertiser has several missing ones.

It has some boards missing because we are building them !
Besides, this is not a competition. I openly invited the administrator of this forum to work with us on the other one. I took charge of all the payments, licenses and hardware equipment so as the forum wont have any limitations in growing.
You can't expect to built a massive community forum with a free proboard forum, sooner or later they will cut you out, what will you do then?
My solution is already working on a dedicated server with up to 10TB of bandwidth per month, no limitations on throughput, licensed software and a custom domain. It's not a matter of "there are more people here" or "we are competing"... nothing of the sort.. it's a matter of getting to work together to come up with the best long-term solution possible.
How hard is to register in imdforums.com ? with a Facebook Login button, it's a single click.
We added more than 32 categories today and keep adding based on users request.

TNMB -- the new movie boards
I actually like this a great deal. It's catchy and easily rolls off your tongue.

Yes, eventually, but wait until more members from the IMDB members know to come here.

I suppose people can choose what to do. I am only offering an option. Since I work in the hosting industry, I was able to come up with a good structure to sustain a forum. If people prefer this forum so be it, I'm not going to tell people what to do, what's the point? I am only giving an option.

This website is certainly a good first port-of-call after leaving IMDb...
It gives posters the chance to gather their thoughts and decide what to do next.
I feel sorry about moving on from here, as I've already become quite fond of this place in the short time that I've been here, but I also recognize the importance of building a new community on a foundation that will be able to support and sustain us into the future.
The new website should be able to do that.

Don't think that'll prevent a lawsuit.
