I'm not gonna lie, this looks way the hell better than I thought it would. Great trailer. Movie might be a mess but helluva trailer. But it sucks that Boseman (or T'Challa for that matter) isn't a part of it.

But… ultimately this is a movie without T’Challa, where Shuri becomes Black Panther. Hard to get too hyped.

Should had just ran the gauntlet and recast the part.

It’s a good trailer. With that said, maybe they should’ve changed the color of the Atlanteans? Having this release before the new Avatar just seems like a counterintuitive decision on Disney’s part.

Well it's official, if you haven't figured it out from the recent trailer. They killed off T'Challa.
For better or worse Marvel decided not to continue with the character. I guess we'll see how things go with the film.
I guess Chadwick Boseman is the definitive T'challa, for the MCU at least.

I have to admit... that was pretty epic. Probably the most emotional teaser from an MCU movie yet.
This gives me hope.
That said, where the hell is Nakia?

Looks good, despite my eternal criticism that a trailer that's 2 minutes and 12 seconds long isn't a teaser.
This looks pretty good! I was open to the possibility of recasting before after much arguing, but now that I'm seeing this trailer, I feel vindicated that moving on without recasting Boseman was the right choice. That doesn't mean that can't whip out another BP. It's an identity and a mantle, like Captain America, but you can't just trot out a new guy and call him T'Challa. There's too much to harvest from the character's death to let the opportunity slip, and it's already showing in the trailer.

IT's looking like Shuri may be wearing the Panther suit, for at least this film.

This looks awesome. At first, I was worried we were going to get two hours of mourning the loss of T'Challa. But once the Atlanteans show up, this trailer gets very interesting in a hurry.

IT's looking like Shuri may be wearing the Panther suit, for at least this film. Ugh, was really hoping they wouldn't go that direction. If they wanted a female BP it would have made much more sense to give it to Nakia or Okoye, or even Ayo. If Shuri becomes BP and she magically develops extreme martial arts ability to go with the mantle, she runs the risk of becoming just another Mary Sue.

Didn’t the first movie establish that the title of Black Panther is an ancestral thing? Since Shuri was the next in-line for the throne after T’Challa, it makes sense that she would be the one to take on the mantle.

Since Shuri was the next in-line for the throne after T’Challa, it makes sense that she would be the one to take on the mantle. I wouldn't exactly say she's "next in line" for the throne. The first movie established that the title of Black Panther and/or ruler of Wakanda is something that is won via trial of combat. A physical, melee type combat. Last I checked, Shuri wasn't exactly a renowned physical warrior. From what we saw of the last movie, you can argue that M'Baku or Nakia probably have more claim to the throne because they were both champions/heads of their clans and were actually offered a chance to challenge T'Challa.
