i'm boggled that Fox doesn't have the skrulls in their stable. if this news hadn't come straight from Marvel i would've dismissed the possibility out of hand. furthermore, this is badass:

So here are some potential Vilians for the film or even future sequels! ( Not sure if marvel has any rights to some of these) The KreeA good possibility, They're already introduced into the MCU and have played a big part in her origin and comic series. MoonstoneHer powerset makes her a decent match, she is also long time archenemy of carol. Plus more female antagonist are always welcomed. Doomsday manYeah marvel has its own Doomsday. He could work if they pair him up with another villain. TitannusOkay he's a skrull, so he might not be able to be used. He's a decent power house. Yon-RoggA Kree scientist, honestly he could probably work with doomsday man. Warren TravelerHe actually went up against Doctor Strange as well. He's a sorcerer and fought carol back when she was Ms. Marvel. Two odd characters that marvel can play around with: SteeplejackAnd The Hood Moonstone sounds like the most interesting character but I can see complaints about her being written off as the MCU just using another 'dark clone' of the hero as the villain. Moonstone is an awesome character, though my favorite arc with her is in the dark avengers. So your point stands. Also she's great as a Thubderbolt. I really want Ross to get a team together at some point.

They're shared. The only Skrull Fox control exclusively is Super Skrull. It'll be interesting to see if they shoehorn them in somewhere before 2019 just to do it first.

So outside of the casting of the leading lady herself and the Directors being picked, there's not a whole lot to talk about. I figure I'd make a thread to start a discussion for Marvel first female lead film. So any ideas on what villian they should use or storyline you would like to see done? Well there is a whole hell of a lot to talk about now.
What will be the implications of the films events in relation to the MCU as we know it?
Where has she been? On Kreelar maybe? And wherever she is, do we see her pop up in modern day by the end? What will Fury think of her return? No matter how they end the film, we will have to be left wondering if the Skrulls have been on Earth this entire time. WHO IS A SKRULL??? Will we get another look at Ronan? Is the Kree/Skrull War involved at all or even mentioned? How does Fury lose his eye? Remember he said "the last time I trusted someone I lost an eye" He also said "You think you're the only superhero out there?" when talking to Iron Man and at the time we didn't really know there were any prior to Iron Man. Hulk perhaps, but now we know of Ant Man and Captain Marvel, and even the Patriot on agents of Shield, and I'm so glad Captain Marvel is getting into some MCU history. We'll almost certainly get to see the Triskelion again and I can't wait. The last time we saw it was last season on Shield.

They've participated in many events that had little to do with the Fantastic Four, but it may be a case where Marvel can't use Klert specifically. OR,, ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, maybe this is another sign that there is a deal between the two, perhaps for other characters as well. Time shall tell.
And yes, that is badass.

So does anyone else think becoming Binary and hanging out in space is a possible direction they'll take to explain Danvers' absence between her own film and IW? That'd be a sweet character evolution.

I think it's definitely possible that's she's been in space all this time. I don't know how much she'll ever resemble Binary, probably not if I had to guess, but she might very well have some characteristics of that part. My wager is that she spends some time with the Kree before coming home, and by that I mean at the end of this film she'll leave voluntarily to go find answers to her origin, and Fury will let her go. We won't know what happened until she shows up in Avengers 4 to tell us, and I suspect she'll come back for the same reason everybody else is getting together. She learned about Thanos.
I do think her going cosmic might lead to a solid version of Annihilation. Perhaps not, I don't know about the rights, but we've got her, Nova potentially, the Guardians, Adam Warlock is coming, Phyla Vell and Moondragon are possibilities, etc, which is more than enough to pull that story off.

This movie is official DOA. Everyone here hates that it's set in the 90s, and this board is a trendsetter for the rest of the Internet. Me in particular, of course.
This movie WILL fail.

That's probably closer to the route they'd take. Annihilation would be the bee's knees. And even though the event would be named that, it would be a whole new angle unique to the MCU anyway, so whichever characters they could scramble together would fly. Amazing how one little species namedrop and a time period can rock so many speculative socks off.

Amazing how one little species namedrop and a time period can rock so many speculative socks off. It's true, but the fact that they did it as a prequel to everything that's gone on just begs the question, "why?". There's some purpose to it and it's going to be awesome to find out what. It really could be a lot of things, and probably some we can't even guess.

Yep! Comic Con gave us some juicy news in regards to the Captain Marvel film! 1. It's a prequel set in the 90's with a Nick Fury who still has both of his eyes! As you mention the "the last time I trusted someone I lost an eye" line gets addressed and we get to see who it was that nick trusted that cost him a eye! Also since its set in the 90's not only will we probably get to see Shield again but possibly my main gal Peggy Carter? Possibly as the director of shield? Maybe even getting ready to retire? 2. THE SKRULLS! Yes its confirmed that miss Danvers will face off against the shape shifting aliens! This is important because we can get a Secret Invasion story, be it a Captain Marvel film or a future Avengers film ( assuming the first Captain Marvel film doesn't take some elements of it ) and its another alien race that can play a big part in the cosmic side of the MCU! 3. We're getting a Skrull-Kree story line! Kevin Feige confirmed it! The War will be featured in the film and will probably be Nick Fury inspiration for the Avengers Initiative. Maybe Carol could be a founding member? Speaking of Her..... 4. Where has Carol been this every time? Is she on ice like cap was? Did she take off into space? Endless possibilities! Can't wait till we get more news, especially casting.

That makes sense. She has her movie and then it's set up to be in the new roster of avengers to defeat Thanos in a4. Really excited for this.

What the fuck is the Skrull-Kree war? Why are they at war and which side is Earth supporting? Why do humans go to war? Lots of reasons. 1 common reason is they want more resources (e.g. land, oil, a shipping port, other spoils of war, etc.). In medieval England, they went to war to get the throne. In the Civil War, the South went to war because they felt their way of life was being threatened by the North.
So why were the Skrull and Kree fighting and which side is Earth supporting?

Probably over earth resources? They could also have a ancient blood feud. As for Earth taking a side? We shouldn't. Both races are assholes.
