I’ve always said Low, as in the opposite of high.

Thank you. What a low, concerning the original German meaning of the name,"lion".

How do you pronounce the name Frederick LOEWE in us-English? (composer of My Fair Lady) Ler-ve, with emphasis on first syllable. Ler as in 'h erb', ve as in ' a table' but very short and no emphasis. Unless the owner chooses to renounce his ancestry and pronounce it 'low' as jervistretch has suggested. I have the same dichotomy with my French surname. My English working-class family anglicized it (though not uniformly) but when I won a scholarship to a posh school the staff insisted on the French pronunciation, as do head waiters and brothel-keepers. So in later life I am mentally conflicted and act irrationally.
