I watched this last night (I think Baywatch inspired me somehow), it should be terrible shouldn't it? But it's great, it just flows perfectly, not a second of the film drags. Keanu Reeves is awful but you just don't care, Patrick Swayze isn't really convincing as a criminal that would have a woman kidnapped and tortured but it works anyway.
Kathryn Bigelow just has this mastery of action and atmosphere, even when everything about the movie says it shouldn't work at all.
