WWE just launched a party for going Hollywood with next year's WrestleMania, which got me thinking. If the wrestling world in general really went Hollywood and vice versa, what roles in movies and tv shows would you assign the talent, and which Hollywood stars would you not mind seeing step in the ring? The wrestlers and actors could be from the past and present, and they don't have to be exclusive to WWE.
For me, I think a big blockbuster match for wrestling gone hollywood would've been The Rock vs Dave Bautista. These two have similar careers and could even pass as brothers with their big build, exotic backgrounds, sunglasses, fancy clothes, and tattoos. They were both top stars in the wrestling world, ruling over Smackdown specifically, and they were both the breakout stars of big factions like The Nation of Domination and Evolution. They're the two biggest wrestlers turned actors, starring in big blockbuster movies as lead action stars, and they both got their start with movies like The Scorpion King. The Rock was The Brahma Bull, Batista was The Animal. They both liked to use the spinebuster in the ring.
For casting roles, I think the role of Amleth from "The Northman" would be a good fit for Drew Mcintyre. He's european with a sword, and he even looks like the character. I also think he would be a good fit for playing the role of Hercules, since he's supposed to be "The Chosen One", and he's quite heroic with a strong build and a tall stature. With this said, I would have to cast his current rival Roman Reigns in the role of his half brother/arch nemesis Ares. He's tall, dark, and like a War-God.
Other casting choices I have are Sting as The Crow(not very original I know), Edge as The Green Goblin, Scott Hall as Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, and Hulk Hogan as Zeus.
Alright i'm done. The floor is yours folks.

No idea if either of them can really act, but a Conan and Red Sonja Movie starring Drew McIntyre and Becky Lynch would at least look the part.

It's a fascinating topic. I posted here recently about a passionate Chris Jericho addressing his Ukrainian fighting heritage and actor Mike Mazurki who was co-founder and 1st President of the Cauliflower Alley Club. There's a long history of wrestlers turning to acting, as science-fiction, fantasy and horror fans know all too well, from Tor Johnson to Roddy Piper.
Mike Mazurki
I'll have a think. I wanted to mention the documentary 'You Cannot Kill David Arquette' (2020) which shows the pushback in wrestling circles against actor David Arquette who dedicated himself to becoming a working circuit wrestler (Jon Moxley's old foe Nick Gage made him bleed for this decision).
Wrestler turned actor Jon Moxley played Randy Stone in 'Cagefighter' (2020) but this week looked to tame the mighty Lionheart Chris Jericho in an AEW Championship title bout ...

^ Mike Mazurki as a wrestler looks like he could play the role of Mr. Freeze, but from the looks of it, he's done a lot of Mobster type movies, so maybe he would've been better suited for a role like Harvey Dent/Two Face.
The role of Mr. Freeze could go to a wrestler like Stone Cold, whose name and actions said it all.

Good call. Stone Cold has to be Mr. Freeze!

I've given this topic some serious thought and come up with what I feel is the perfect project for today's wrestling community. I was looking for a comic book, or comic strip, that could get greenlit in today's cultural climate, but something other than the superheroes who proliferate. I fell back upon an old favourite, Chester Gould's crime cartoon 'Dick Tracy' which inspired Warren Beatty's colourful 1990 masterpiece. That was 32 years ago and with advancements in technology, think what could be done. Gould drew figures from the underworld who had extraordinary features and intimidating physiques I think could fit the wrestling community at large.
Who could play square-jawed justice warrior Dick Tracy? It's clear to me. A bona fide superstar wrestler with broad shoulders and superhuman strength who in real life has a thing for vintage suits. It's gotta be John Cena all day long.

^ I'm not too familiar with the comics of Dick Tracy, but you seem to know a great deal and have made your casting choices look very interchangeable to the wrestlers visually. I especially like the roles you selected for a lot of WWE's roster. John Cena, Jake Roberts, Jim Ross, Michael Cole, Tommasso Ciampa, William Regal, Dakota Kai, Big Show, Kurt Angle, Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens, Paul Heyman, Dolph Ziggler, Dusyy Rhodes, Xavier Woods, The Miz, Brock Lesnar, Baron Corbin, and Sami Zayn all look like the comic book characters come to life(you even have the right idea about Xavier Woods regardless of his race), and could all probably benefit if they played them.

Thanks. I tried my best to make the casting decisions plausible. The key to it all would be the casting of John Cena as he really looks the part. Cena could also do some of his own choreography and a lot of his own stunt work.
You'd need a headliner like Cena, Hulk Hogan, Bautista or the Rock to secure the right kind of financing. With the right director in place, I reckon this could be the comic book vehicle to put Cena over as an A-list action megastar to rival the Rock in cinemas.

John Cena would make a great Dick Tracy, regardless of whether the rest of the cast were wrestlers or not. petrolino - I take it you're big into the Dick Tracy comics? I always liked the Beatty/Madonna movie and have been meaning to try the comics but not sure where would be a good place to start. Any recommendations?

I think you can now get the 'Dick Tracy' comic in book compendiums that are chronological as there were plans for a major reissue. I love the Warren Beatty movie, but also, I grew up watching the animated 'Dck Tracy' cartoon on television.
If the 1940s is considered the Golden Age, you'd need to buy quite a few volumes for the 1930s before reaching it. I guess it depends on whether you can afford this, and if you want to build a comprehensive collection. Another problem someone might face is if some volumes are out of print; I see some are available on Amazon Books at the moment ('Complete Chester Gould’s Dick Tracy - Volume ...'), but perhaps not all, and independent seller's prices can be high. I've not used a Kindle before (my sister has one), but they might be available that way.
If you're just looking to read a few 'Dick Tracy' comics and see how you find them, I'd recommend the comics published from around 1939 - 1947, I think this is where a lot of the more colourful, eccentric characters came in to play. And the 2nd World War may have brought a darker edge to 'Dick Tracy'.

^ I agree. Maybe WWE should've featured Alexa Bliss as Harley Quinn to assist him, but I get it, he's with Becky Lynch.
