That's great and all, but for real excitement, turn into the Padres tonight: Juan Soto could get his 500th career walk this evening! He'd be the first player with 500 walks before turning 24 since 1906!!! I'm sure Sportscenter will do some cut ins once he's at bat.

I needed a QS from Cease, was watching the White Sox on MLB, Cease had 1 out to go, over 100 pitches, guys on base and boom, they switch to Judge in the on-deck circle. He did get it, but the pen blew the 3-1 lead the next inning.

Philadelphia Phillies - all cheese, no steak.
Can we just start the playoffs already, this is like a minor league barn storming.

Judge did not hit HR#61, but Torres hit 2 in an inning. I don't remember seeing live a hitter hits 2 HRs in an inning. I missed the two times A-Rod did it for the Yankees.

ESPN did an interesting piece on the greatest RH batting combos of all time. Judged by runs created during the years when they overlapped. A reflection on the end of one of the best, Pujols-Cabrera. The top 10
1. Hank Aaron-Willie Mays. 1954-1973, 4,474 Runs created 2. Hank Aaron-Frank Robinson. 1956-1976, 4,379 RC 3. Hank Aaron-Al Kaline. 1954-1974, 4,183 RC 4. Hank-Aaron-Harmon Killebrew. 1954-1975 4,049 RC 5. Al Kaline-Willie Mays. 1954-1973, 3,917 RC 6. Manny Ramirez-Alex Rodriguez. 1994-2011, 3.900 RC 7. Albert Pujols-Miguel Cabrera. 2003-2022, 3,899 RC 8. Alex Rodriguez-Derek Jeter. 1995-2013, 3,890 RC 9. Frank Robinson-Willie Mays. 1956-1973 3,850 RC 10. Napoleon Lajoie-Honus Wagner. 1897-1916, 3,769 RC
This Aaron guy must have been a hell of a hitter. Al Kaline is such an underrated player. 3000 hits, 399 HR's, .297 BA. 18 AS games. Never won an MVP but had 15 top 25 in voting and nine in the top 10. Oh, yeah, 10 Gold Gloves. A player like Stan Musial who quietly went to the ballpark and excelled, day in and day out. Kaline, unlike Stan the Man, couldn't even get a decent nickname to stick

You can get from 1959 to 1922 with the span of three players' careers: Willie McCovey (1959-1980), Harold Baines (1980-2001), Albert Pujols (2001-2022). Sixty-three years in three 21-year careers.

Pads up 3-1 on the cards in the 7th. I don't want to jinx anything (so I probably already did), but Cardinals have scored one run in the first 25 innings of this series.
