Weird fact - For 61 HR seasons and under, the only number of home runs that no player has finished with is 55.

Bonds 73 HR 177 walks McGwire 70 HR 162 walks Sosa 66 HR 73 walks McGwire 65 HR 138 walks Sosa 64 HR 116 walks Sosa 63 HR 78 walks Maris 61 HR 94 walks Judge 60 HR 97 walksRuth 60 HR 137 walks Ruth 59 HR 145 walks Stanton 59 HR 85 walks Greenberg 58 HR 119 walks Foxx 58 HR 116 walks Howard 58 HR 108 walks McGwire 58 HR 101 walks Interesting stats. Sammy Sosa was such a strikeout machine. His walk total were kind of pathetic. He had Mark Grace hitting behind him, for the most part. While Grace was no Mario Mendoza, I'd still rather face him than Juiced Up Sam. Of course, Maris' walk totals were weak because he had Mantle, a much, much better batter hitting behind him. Stanton had Christian Yelich hitting behind him, a good bat but no Giancarlo.

Shoutout Noah Syndergaard facing Vladimir Guerrero Jr. the other night.
Arguably the Blue Jays #1 pitching prospect of the 21st century facing their #1 position player prospect. Vladdy struck out on off-speed.

His 18th 20 home run season. Fabulous. I think all of those questions about what if he's just short of 700 when the season ends are fading away.

Pujols followed it up in the fifth inning with number 700. He did it.

Incredible! What a player! He drove in all 5 runs for the Cardinals tonight with 2 HR. Congrat Pujols.

It will be a great sight to see Pujols and Molina going into HOF together 5 years from now.

I thought he was quitting because he didn't want to be a part time player always sitting against righties.

Jays lose 2 playoff tense games at Tampa in row. 2 more today & Sun.
Tropicana is in their heads. As a Jays fan, they've played that way there since TB's inception.

Kris Bryant is out for the rest of the season.
He didn't hit a homer in Coors this year.
There have been sixteen instances where somebody had more at bats in a season at Coors and didn't get a single home run. Three of them are from Juan Pierre. Six are from two seasons apiece of Tony Wolters, Johnathan Herrea, and Eric Young Jr. The other seven are made up of the Walt Weisses and Desi Relafords of the world.
182 million for that.
