That is absolutely breathtaking
Doesn't appear to be a lot of seating for fans
Curious to how it holds up during storms
And I bet parking is a bitch.

Neyland Stadium isn't quite right in the mountains, but the Smoky Mountains are a short drive from Knoxville. I'll say this, Knoxville has the best little airport (McGhee Tyson) in America, barring none. I flew in and out of there last year. It was fine..?

Can't say that about most airports. Ever been to Orlando? Place is a dump in dire need of an upgrade, and they have all that amusement park traffic!

Most ballparks outside of the SEC, PAC or Big XII aren't spacious. The largest college baseball only field is Dudy Noble Field, home of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. 15,000 seats.

But as I also don't remember Knoxville being anything special. White Plains Airport in Westchester is my local tiny airport, and I prefer that one. It's super small, and I can get through security in like 10 mins, and get to the airport like 20 mins before my flight and be fine.

But in terms of traveling, I've never gotten in and out of an airport faster in my life than I did in Knoxville. It's a small airport and my luggage was already on the belt by the time I reached baggage claim. Rental pickup and drop off was a snap, security was a breeze, everything about the place was clean and organized. As with any destination, I'm sure it depends on what time of day/year you're coming in.

The one time I was in Pittsburgh I remember thinking that the view of the two stadiums across the water from downtown was nice. Presumably the view of the downtown skyline from the stadiums must be nice as well.
Cincinnati has a stadium on the riverfront area as well, which I thought was nice.

But I did also have an annoying issue with trying, and failing, to rent a car, so maybe it was a mindblowingly awesome small airport but that soured my experience.

While I was there, there was a guy trying to rent a car to drive back to New York, was that you? No, I was trying to rent a car to drive to a cabin in the Smokies during a major rental car shortage at the time. I ended up getting a Lyft with this guy, who actually ended up being quite interesting, which I didn't expect, and was rather fortunate for that 1 hour drive. If he was a poor conversationalist with no good stories that would have been brutal.

Made those winding roads up to the cabin, never mind parking lots, fun to navigate. And we've officially hijacked the thread...
