I already know the answer to this one : none of you because you're all honest folk. Indeed, once I actually felt very guilty because at this one place I paid by card and thought I'd added a £5 tip for our server. Later that same day I checked the transaction and only the bill had been charged. I knew this because I distinctly remembered the amount. I had messed up and not tapped the right button or followed the correct procedure or something, and the poor server must have thought I was a rotter. I even thought about going back to the place days later to find him and slip him a note. I knew his name. But I never went back, and although it was a very good meal I'm too embarrassed to go back again for another meal in case he is my server again and remembers what a tightwad I was.

Something happened like that to me when I bought some chips at a hotel last week…🥸

Five years ago but it was completely by accident. Once I realized my error, I went back to remedy the situation.

Not a restaurant but I did walk out without paying for a jar of Kalamata Olives at a Publix, I use cloth bags and the bagger was filling and putting the bags in my cart while I was still unloading groceries. When I got to my car, there was the jar of olives in the corner under the "child seat". I went to the customer service desk and told them what happened and paid for the olives. I would not have enjoyed the olives if I didn't pay for them.

True story..
I was at Steak And Ale (restaurant chain here in the states) one time and there was a big piece of plastic in my food and my water had small chunks of lettuce in it.
I told the waiter about the drink and he came back with another water and it still had lettuce in it. I walked out without paying for it but I did inform the manager beforehand. He got very upset at my server.
