The only thing that bugged me about the episode is that the Empire's plan with the prisoners makes no sense. Just shuffling a guy from one floor to another only works if he doesn't tell anyone, and you better believe he's going to tell people. At that point the prisoner literally has nothing to lose, and there's a 100% chance he starts an uprising. You're better off making up some bullshit charge and extending his sentence instead of pretending to release him, only to shuffle him in elsewhere in the prison. Yea we aren't given a whole lot of information there. The doc said 'they screwed up'...so clearly the prisoner wasn't supposed to be transfered to the same facility. But what they were really doing with the prisoners who's time was up, who knows? Maybe they get moved to one of the more controlled prison camps or sold into slavery on a spice mine somewhere.

Andor went from a series I was "meh" about when it was announced to becoming my favorite (so far) Star Wars series.
Why couldn't Mandalorian, Boba Fett and Obi-Wan be this good?
Seriously what thr fuck happened with those shows?
Hell I wish Marvel would put out something as good.

Very good episode with one exception…leaving Kino on the edge because he can’t swim. What the f-ck was that unsatisfying bullcrap? Make me love a character and then have him be defeated by not having something to float on? Or two or three guys to give him a hand? I needed more there.
But I loved all the prison break sequence and the conversation between Luthen and the IBS spy.

But I loved all the prison break sequence and the conversation between Luthen and the IBS spy. Luthen is one of the best additions to Star Wars mythos in years. He's arguably my favorite character on the show, above Cassian himself. That conversation was incredible. Normally I'd think they were dumbing it down for him to have to explain himself that way, but Skarsgard killed it in that scene. He calmly tells the guy this other den of spies will have to be sacrificed to keep him in his position, because the intel is more valuable than their lives. Doesn't bat an eye. The guy asks what Luthen is sacrificing and he's basically like, "Didn't you just hear me? I'm a soulless shell of a person, as bad as the Empire. I've sacrificed my humanity for this cause." Brilliantly written and executed by all those involved. I'm wondering if we'll see Kino again. It was a neat twist, but it felt anticlimactic. Speaking of future events, and I'm getting way ahead of myself because there's at least one more season, but I hope Cassian blows Karn's head off in the final episode. Karn's turned into a great villain, ("Can one ever be too aggressive in preserving order?") and now stalking Dedra takes the creep factor up a notch. There needs to be a head to head confrontation between Cassian and Karn before all is said and done. It would be awesome if they did a twist ending with Dedra, like in the series finale she's promoted to a new position on the Death Star.

Luthens rant, due to the acting, felt as much like it was him getting some things off his chest as it was informing the other guy exactly how much he’s had to sacrifice. It feels like this is something he’s continued to have to tell himself over these years. It was really so great. Syril is great…but his development has been all over the place. I honestly don’t know where to expect him next.

Just an excellent season of television. The finale was great. The funeral procession scene and Maarvas speech…*chefs kiss*

I just finished the season. It was ok. I thought Rogue One was a better work and a lot more solid narratively. I agree with Jan that this show would have worked better as a movie. A little too slow. Good performances and it did add new stuff to Star Wars without diminishing what came before (something Disney Star Wars has had a terrible time with), so high marks for that! I thought episode 10's ending worked better as a season finale than episode 12's ending, which wasn't as strong.

Let’s be honest. This show was Star Wars for people who don’t like Star Wars. That doesn’t make it a bad show. But why couldn’t it have just been an original IP? They obviously had almost zero interest in matching the franchise in tone, style or spirit.

It's a different corner of the SW universe, not every story has to revolve around jedi. I'm a Star Wars fan and I loved this show. The Last Jedi was Star Wars for people who don't like Star Wars. Star Wars in name only. SWINO!

Without that it’s a different thing entirely. But I shouldn’t speak for all SW fans. I just keep seeing posts on other boards that literally call all the previous SW movies shit in comparison to this, even the originals. That reveals that they just aren’t fans of the series to begin with.

Definitely a different tone from the original trilogy, but both are great. For my money, A New Hope, or you know, Star Wars, is still the best Star Wars movie. ESB also had a very different feel from the original, but was still great.

I’ve seen that post a lot on Reddit (our old friend Welibibibers also said it, though he used the word “silly” to refer to the original movies). To me, SW should never be gritty and grounded. That’s just not SW. But I’ll definitely concede that that’s just my opinion.

Honestly at this point both Rogue One and Andor are my favorite of the Disney Star Wars, with the exception of the video game Jedi: Fallen Order.
I don't blame anyone for not liking Andor or Rogue One. Espcially Rogue One since it had the biggest fan service of an ending.

I actually agree that those are the best two, even though I don’t really like them. I think that goes to show how little Disney understood the property they purchased. The entries that whole heartedly attempted to recreate the spirit of original Star Wars failed spectacularly.

I'll say he overacts a lot in the show:

The swearing in the show was off-putting (despite Han using "damn" and "hell" in the OT). They leaned too heavily into "bastards", and "crap" should never have been put into a Star Wars project. It isn't a Star Wars word.

This is easily the best live-action Star Wars show so far....

I thought it was intermittently interesting but overall kind of a drag. I don't need Jedis spinning around with lightsabers every 5 minutes, but don't see why the alternative in Rogue One and this has to be "boring characters speechifying until shootout". Though "boring" is maybe too harsh for any character not named Andor. Did the show need to be centered on him, just because he's a "name"? Just make up a new lead like Mandalorian did. There's absolutely nothing to Andor except a. He's willing to kill people, oooohhhh b. He and a bunch of other protagonists the audience never heard of or cared about died in Rogue One. In any case, he's the least interesting character in his own show. Meanwhile we only get a few eps of Andy Serkis who killed it. I also liked the incel imperial guy and his daily job troubles.

Have you'll noticed B2EMO's stuttering, synthetized voice is the same used by the late Steven Hawking?
