So we get our "battle for the West" in the Grand Final. Panthers coming off a comfortable, though far from flawless, win at home while Parra had to survive a series of late raids to advance in a thriller on the road.
Panthers looking to go back to back for the first time. Eels looking to end the longest active title drought in the NRL: 36 years.

Penrith looked rusty early doors, but once the sting went out of the game they simply looked like a combine harvester does to a wheat field. Unless Parra find some white hot form and do to Penrith what Melbourne did in 2020, I just see Penrith mowing down the Eels like everyone else…..

Couldn't care less about the complaints levelled at Nicko Hynes winning the Dally M. You play the schedule in front of you and he seemed a perfectly sensible winner to me based on what I saw. Mind you, Tedesco is always a sensible winner IMO. Close to first guy picked in any rep team he's eligible for.

Doesn’t matter who wins or by how many, there is always a group of pelicans that try and make an argument as to why the winner shouldn’t have won. Hynes was a standout all season, and a significant contributor to the side that finished 2nd on the ladder. Deserved winner.

Not a great start to the night for Parra either their women getting absolutely (wo)manhandled by the Knights 34-12 in the NRLW Grand Final.

A well deserved dominant Grand Final win to cap off the most emphatic title defence imaginable by the Panthers. They've dropped just 10 games in the last 3 seasons and have really been The Hunted for the last 2. Outstanding team.
Never let Parra have a sniff in the game. Simple as that. By the time the Eels did score the game was over. Flattered by the 28-12 scoreline.

Not a commentator, just a 66yo singer who doesn't have the pipes he used to. There's been worse. Poor old Billy Idol didn't even get to perform in 2002 due to a power failure.

The most dominant 16 point win you’ll ever likely to see.
Penrith were in second gear for most of the second half after going up 28-0.
