I believed people with different eye colors saw the world in different colors. How do you know they don’t? 🧐

But there's really no way to know if how we see colors are the same. Colors are just how our brains interpret the wavelengths.

Colorblind people disagree. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

We left when i was 11 and by that time i was far to old to belive in that stuff. I was 11 years old the first time i celebrated Christmas. I think i got Easter eggs once when i was 12. Never gotten money under the pillow.

I'm sure we would have rather had a day off.

I used to think that when you heard a song on the radio, the band was there playing it live. Led Zeppelin was actually at the station, playing Stairway to Heaven. Finally dawned on me that it might be easier just to play the record and keep Zeppelin at home

I remember something stupid that my entire 6th grade class believed. That presidential candidate George McGovern would make kids go to school on Saturdays if elected. The rumor spread through the whole school. My teacher asked the class one day by show of hands who we would vote for if we were old enough to vote. The whole class raised their hands for Nixon except for poor Pete. He raised his hand for McGovern and all the kids started yelling at him. An early experience with a Big Lie.

Also with tv shows, I thought Bo and Luke were racing away from Roscoe in real time. The creepiest one I remember thinking was real was a kid that I was in school with in 2nd grade told me that the woods that our school backed up to hosted a sinister fellow called the goat man. That scared me for a long time so that I would never go too far back in the playground during recess.

When I was a kid I used to practice reading by going through the newspaper. In the TV listings, there was a daily morning show called Sunrise Semester; in the summer months, it was called Summer Semester. It aired sometime around 6 AM, shortly after the TV station came on the air (this was back when the stations used to shut down for the night). For years, I used to wonder about the show, since I didn't watch TV at that hour. I always assumed it was some kiddie show starring a Huck Finn type of character named "Semester" (I'd never heard the word "semester" before). A lot of local stations aired children's programming at that time of day.
Finally, when I was about 9 or 10, I tuned in one day and discovered it was a show that presented college courses on air. I was so disappointed that "Semester" turned out to be a stodgy professor presenting some dry lesson on physics or economics or something.

Monsters live under the bed, at night. Are you really sure that monsters don't live under the bed? (At any time...) Because I think this poor little girl thinks that they do...

When we were kids our parents had a Polaroid camera. Mom told us that when the picture came out, we had to blow on it to make the picture develop. So we’d stand around the picture and blow on it till the image appeared. I think she told us this so we’d keep our fingers off the picture.
When I was much older Mom saw me blowing on a Polaroid and started laughing and told me the truth.

I believed that when I grew up,I wouldn't have to deal with childish nonsense from my peers. I was wrong.

I don`t why, but i believed that if you swam between these, they would go around your legs and drag you down to the bottom of the lake and drown you. ![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/fc/Matkusjoki_20210709_142526.jpg/1280px-Matkusjoki_20210709_142526.jpg)
