I would say here's the basic rule for buying nes games:

If it is a game not published by nintendo: Buy the game, only it it gets a rating of 'great' on gamefaq.com.
Because, the rating on that site go past great. Games can also get a rating of outstanding.
But as far as I know, no game not published by nintendo gets a rating better than just great.
Except for one exception.
I'm saying, the general rule of thumb for buying nes games: If it isn't published by nintendo it isn't worth playing unless it gets a great rating.
For example, here's why this system works. If you wanna play castlevania games, if you go by this then you'd only play 1 and 3. Therefore leaving out the least polished game of that series.
If it is published by nintendo and gets a rating of less than great. It is still worth owning. Because then at least it will still be a polished game.
