We actually might get a win against a better team on this boat for once. Have they sucked enough military dick today? Nothing like us having 750 bases in 80 countries, with a military budget higher than the next 10 countries combined, out their protecting our financial interests while calling it "defending our democracy." Purdue visits Sparty. About tip time. Purdue escapes with a win against Sparty.

Kansas loses by 23. In Lawrence. Ouch
Xavier hands Georgetown its 29th straight conference loss, Hoyas now 5-15. It's been a while since the days of Ewing and Mutumbo, but Georgetown has some success since then. Even won the Big East tourney in 2021. And I think that was their last conference win. It's obvious that Patrick Ewing can't recruit and can't coach. Not sure I've ever seen an elite CBB program fall so far so fast.

The only other elite program I remember falling so far in UNLV. But that was the combination of probation and Tarkanian leaving. The Shark WAS UNLV basketball. Some schools have fallen to mediocrity, St. John's after Lucky Lou Carnesecca. The NYC schools in the 50's but point shaving can have a detrimental effect on a program. Some schools have had hiccups. But Georgetown is lost. I think they have to break from the past. Last two coaches are names from the glory days John Thompson III and Patrick Ewing. Time to move on.

People forget Packer was a very good player, all ACC in the early 60's for Wake Forest. He was the voice of the Final Four. Color analysis for the Indiana State-Michigan State (Larry Bird v. Earvin Johnson) in 1979, still the highest rated TV broadcast of a CBB game, 44 years later.

Purdue beats Penn St by 20 - Iβm really impressed by the Boilermakers, they have a lot of guys who can score, solid defense, and arguably CBBβs best player in Zach Edey.
Florida upsets #2 Tennessee, the Vols are interesting, they have a talented team thatβs pretty deep but Iβm not completely sold on them.
Xavier beats Providence in an exciting OT game.
Pitt beats NC in the Dean Dome, the Tar Heels have been a huge disappointment this year, they were overrated to start the year, and itβs looking like they just got hot at the right time last year in their run to the Title Game, and they arenβt that great.
Doesnβt seem like thereβs much discussion about CBB on this forum this year, which is too bad cause I enjoy it and itβs the only sport I watch after NFL goes off until MLB starts.
