Would you be into the MCU canonizing the Garfield films in a roundabout way by including Garfield as Ben Reilly in one of the 2-5 sequels to Homecoming based on the Clone Saga? Why or why not?

Nah, I'd just rather have them as standalone features.

I think it's best we forget the Garfield Spiderman movies ever happened.

i'd rather not broach the Clone Saga at all but if they're going to, i could dig the casting.
though if the rumors of his laissez faire attitude about the role in the past are true he'd be lucky to be considered.

Not Ben Reilly, but Kaine. Make it that the 2 Amazing Spider-man movies were implanted memories.

No. There's no need to canonize the Garfield films, and also Ben Reilly is a clone, which pretty much means he'd need to be played by whoever was playing Spiderman. I don't see the point in doing this.

Would people be more favorable to Maguire as Ben Reilly, then?! Sure! Why not?

Yeah? Me too. I would prefer Maguire reprise the role of Peter even more though. I still wish they had incorporated Tobey into the MCU! Hell, he's the close same age as RDJ and Ruffalo, it would have been perfect. In my dreams, it plays out like this: 1 ) Spider-Man unmasks, during a Civil War press conference, revealing Tobey Maguire, and saying this All Time Classic line: Chills! 2 ) RDJ makes some smart ass comment i.e. "I've heard about you..." 3 ) Kirsten Dunst has a cameo as his wife, MJ 4 ) They also introduce his daughter May Parker and her friend Miles Morales 5 ) This would lead to "Spider-Girl" and "Ultimate Spider-Man" films 6 ) That would lead to a team up "Spider-Men" film, with Peter coming out of "retirement" to help May and Miles!

All of this would've been so much better than just rebooting the same movie for the third time in fifteen years.

Thanks, man, I have gotten very positive reactions, from the few people I have described it to. Supposedly, Marvel talked to Garfield about continuing in the role. Even that would have been better than a reboot!

Homecoming will be very tense for Marvel. If this one fails the MCU will receive a big blow.

They played it safe by introducing him in Civil War and letting people know he is in the good graces of that world now. They'll have to do the same thing with F4 if they get them back. They won't just make a movie of them cold.

If the first solo outing of that hero in their shared universe fails it will hurt their universe. Im not worried about that because I liked what I have seen untill now but still, its a must succeed project.
