And Mick completes us (just ahead of Spider and Linda and Julie).
Tallies and commentary to follow.
Thanks for the fast finish -- I have just enough time for a round of nine holes on the DDC Golf Course.

I don't get it. This is my field, and I can't do better than 6? Disgusting! I feel your pain, Spider -- however there's one more contest of remakes to go. Then you'll show 'em!

You're going to slaughter me next time, Spider! I'm rooting for YOU! Thanks, mc. But I need to get off to an early start to keep up with you and your photographic memory (which I once had when it came to this subject). Btw, the second version of WHEN LADIES MEET is pretty good, if you like Joan Crawford. I guess I'll have to skip "When Ladies Meet" -- not a Crawford fan.

Well, Greer Garson's in it too, Mick -- so there is a balancing act ... Miniver vs Pierce, class vs crass.

It is a balancing act, isn't it? And what a frustrating game for me, matt! I hope I do better next time. I've really embarrassed myself with this one. But you did finish a strong second to Mick, Spider ... well, second anyway. Come and play next game for me The best is yet to be

Congrats to mcavanaugh! Wish I could have stuck around. Thanks, Matt
p.s. So Neuro, should I not update my iPad to the latest version? I can't afford a new one if I throw this one across the room. Maybe I'll wait for the next update.

Congrats to mcavanaugh! Wish I could have stuck around. Thanks, Matt p.s. So Neuro, should I not update my iPad to the latest version? I can't afford a new one if I throw this one across the room. Maybe I'll wait for the next update. The only way I could stop the music from playing is to disconnect my headphones. Either Siri kept coming up asking me to ask something or music would start playing. I was watching "Operation Pacific" last night, and the movie paused and started playing music from the film, "Dead Again." Very annoying, since it was slowing down the IPad to the point it was not entering my posts for over ten minutes after I pressed Post. You know that can make a huge difference in a Garth Game. But I am blaming the update but it could be the headphones, which are just a couple of weeks old, but no problem until I did the update two days ago.

Thank you, Linda. Maybe I'll skip this one. I've noticed that some of these updates do nothing to improve the iPad performance and often leave them more sluggish and sticky than they were before. Modern problems.

What are you complaining about, Linda? At least you're getting music with the contest.

Matt- unless you do a GG involving film composers, the music is just a distraction. I wouldn't have minded it so much if it didn't slow down everything so much.
But I wound up unplugging the headset and spent the day updating family info on Find a Grave, and found out some useful stuff. I didn't know that a great uncle who went missing during WW II had a marker in a cemetery in Manila. That led me to other info involving his plane being ditched in the South China Sea. A lone survivor was picked up by a submarine 23 days later, and that guy just passed away two months ago, 72 years later at the age of 91.
So even though I blew the day's GG, I had an interesting day.
