Miike is an extremely prolific filmmaker with a ton of films, and I'm curious what people here think of him. He's done a bit of everything from straightforward action films, horror works, manga adaptations, serious dramas and a bit of everything else. If you've seen his work, what are your top 5?
Mine (counting down to best):
5. Over Your Dead Body
4. Dead or Alive 2
3. Ichi the Killer
2. Audition
1. 13 Assassins

Seen way too few of his films (only 14 of the 112 listed on Letterboxd). Overall he is a little hit or miss for me, which I guess is expected given how prolific he is
Top 5 would of those I've seen:
Hara-kiri: Death of a Samurai Over Your Dead Body Audition 13 Assassins Visitor Q

I thought First Love was a good return to form for Miike.
Audition was the first film I saw from him, it held up well on a revisit a few years ago, particularly in the context of it relevancy to a #MeToo context The Bird People In China was the first time I realised that there was more than just shock to the director The Happiness of the Katikuris ... guilty pleasure? family favourite? Fudoh: The Next Generation ... Audition was a serious exploration of the Pygmalion mythology, but this was just WTF Box - the segment from Three:Extremes might just be Miike's crowning glory

Interestingly one of the ones I haven't seen is on your list (Visitor Q).

I like all the ones you listed (Particularly Katikuris) but I have not seen Bird People...
