NTA. Not from the 1930s, and in that case, they objected to pretty much the whole thing. This was a specific scene that made the Nazis get their knickers in a twist.

Huck Finn 1920 because of Hucks speech about refusing to rat out Jim NTA. Hint: It wasn't because of the Streuselkuchen.

Have you tried his streuselkuchen?

Have you tried his streuselkuchen? I do not even want to think about Charles Laughton's culinary skills, especially after reading that Scotty Bowers book, the details of which are too foul to repeat here.

So, moving right along, what did the Nazis object to in Ruggles of Red Gap?

So, moving right along, what did the Nazis object to in Ruggles of Red Gap? It seems that the character's name Egbert Floud was taken by them as echkberflauden, an indelicate German word for pubic hair.

All German words are indelicate. So what's the real answer? Really? How many German words do you know, marianne48 ? I've been living in Germany for almost all of my life. I think I don't know even half of the German words, indelicate or not. By the way "echkberflauden" isn't a word that I'd ever heard of. Must be in the half you don't know. Anyway, the eminent Dr. Ludwig von Pfannmüller, director of the world-famous cosmetology clinic in München famously exclaimed at seeing one his wealthy clients, "Ach du lieber! Eine solche echkberflauden! Sie brauchen riesin vaxxjobben!"

NTA. The answer was, in fact, Ruggles of Red Gap; Charles Laughton, an immigrant from the UK, recites the Gettysburg Address to a group of Americans, who can't recall the words. Hitler's Germany, of course, didn't like what the speech had to say about democracy, so they stifled it. A great comedy/drama which doesn't seem to get much attention from TCM or anywhere else. But thanks for a sober response to the question!

Not a melodious language.

They objected to the Gettysburg Address, but apparently Goebbels considered it one of the finest pieces of propaganda ever written
