the 6hr cut was released on dvd. I saw it on TV circa 79 or so - enjoyed it very much. Revisit a couple of years ago did not disappoint much.

Makes me mad I started it without looking closely. It's not on Youtube or Internet Archive, although the same three hour cut is on Youtube. Young Brent Spiner was very good. Very young.

I have purchased this three times. Each purchase was from a very flawed master. I am not picky about video quality, but this was unwatchable.
I loved this when it aired. Fabulous story , a favorite Hammett story. It’s really four connected stories rather than a real novel like the Thin Man or Red Harvest. The cast and sets were excellent.
There are a few mashups, sort of fan fiction , ostensibly by Owen Fitzstephan a main characte4 in the Dain Currse that are pretty intriguing.
