I'm actually just realizing now how bad the 80's was.

Unlike other sites, it seems people here can't let go of nostalgia

No the worst decade of music is the 2010s Still a good decade... Unless you only listen to the mainstream radio. People still listen to radio? How quaint.

I have to disagree. The 80's had some of the best music.

I'm actually just realizing now how bad the 80's was. 80s could have been just this one track and it's all good.

Can we all agree the 80s was the worst time for music? NOPE... I grew up in the 80s, and I still love most of the music from that time, even today... Not really a fan of the today's music. I'm actually just realizing now how bad the 80's was. I'm sorry, and respect your opinion, that you don't like 80s music... But, I don't have the same taste in music that you do, so I can NOT agree with you.

I have to disagree. The 80's had some of the best music. Thriller (Michael Jackson) is one of my favorite albums of all time that automatically disproves that, but also Glass Houses, An Innocent Man (both Billy Joel), Synchronicity, Ghost in the Machine, Zenyatta Mondatta (all by The Police), 1999, Purple Rain, Around The World In A Day (all by Prince), Blizzard of Ozz (Ozzy Osbourne), In Square Circle (Stevie Wonder), Fair Warning, 1984 (both Van Halen), Diamond Life (Sade), Reckless (Bryan Adams), Can't Slow Down (Lionel Richie), Billy Idol 1982 Album (Billy Idol), Quarterflash 1981 album (Quarterflash), Bad (Micheal Jackson), Moving Pictures (Rush), Face Value (Phil Collins), Street Songs (Rick James), Escape, Frontiers (both Journey), Raising Hell (Run DMC), Whitney Houston 1985 album, Whitney 1987 (both Whitney Houston), Nothing Like the Sun (Sting), Tango In The Night (Fleetwood Mac), It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back (Public Enemy), Tracy Chapman's 1988 album (Tracy Chapman), The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick (Slick Rick), Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 (Janet Jackson), Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning , Master of Puppets and ...And Justice For All (all Metallica) all fantastic albums of the 1980's that prove the 1980's was an awesome time for music.

Thriller (Michael Jackson) is one of my favorite albums of all time... One of my favorites too... ....favorite albums of all time that automatically disproves that... ALSO... I'm not saying that everyone has to love Michael Jackson or his style music, but... The FACT, that the Thriller album, released in 1982, remains the world's best selling album, of all time... Strongly argues against the 1980s being " the worst time for music".

I disagree. The late 1980s is when my newest favorite singers were front and center.
Steve Sanders of the Oak Ridge Boys-"Gonna Take A Lot Of River", "Bridges And Walls", "Beyond Those Years", and "No Matter How High"
Billy Joe Royal-"Burned Like A Rocket", "I'll Pin A Note On Your Pillow", "Out Of Sight And On My Mind", "Tell It Like It Is", "Love Has No Right", and "Till I Can't Take It Anymore"
God bless you and their families always!!!
Holly
P.S. And may the both of them be with the Lord, I love them so much!!!

Ummm….No. The 80s had a lot of great artists and bands and we had AOR bands like Journey, Toto, Heart, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Styx, Triumph and Rainbow (with Joe Lynn Turner), New Wave bands like the Cars, Human League, Tears For Fears, Squeeze, Bananarama, Cutting Crew, ‘Til Tuesday, A-Ha, Duran Duran, The Go-Go’s, Spandau Ballet, Go West and ABC, Hard Rock and Metal Bands like Helloween, the Scorpions, Judas Priest, Saxon, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Skid Row, Warlock, Glam Metal bands like Warrant, Ratt, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Poison, Cinderella, Black N’ Blue, White Lion, Punk bands like Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, the Damned, the Ramones, Hanoi Rocks, Sham 69, Alternative Rock bands like The Cure, The Replacements, Throwing Muses, 10, 000 Maniacs, Dramarama, The Northern Pikes, R.E.M., The Blake Babies and Rock artists and bands like Alice Cooper, Pat Benatar, Blue Oyster Cult, Rush, April Wine, the Pretenders, Cyndi Lauper, Uriah Heep, Nazareth, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, The Divinyls, Billy Joel, the Moody Blues, Cheap Trick, Magnum, UFO and Van Halen release a lot of good albums and songs in that decade. The 80s are easily one of my favourite decades of music ‘cause there was so much diversity on mainstream radio and I haven’t even listed a lot of our awesome Aussie Rock bands who were tearing up the charts here.

I agree. The 80's sucked hard. That's not to say good music didn't come out of the 80's, but the 90's were definitely far superior and the 2000's were even better than the 90's.
It's the 2010's where the music industry has fallen flat on it's face.

I'm actually just realizing now how bad the 80's was. It had its share of duds, but nothing like now. What was the best song of 2017, for example....? *crickets*
