Her biggest hit was the one I remember best. "I'm Sorry" was the first (of 2) songs to reach #1 on the Billboard Top 40. It stayed in that spot for 3 weeks and was on the chart for 18 weeks, the highest number in both categories of all of her songs.

Right. I remember a film song in my youth making a big impression beyond the cover hits. Canadian Bryan Adams came out with '(Everything I Do) I Do It For You' and it became a power ballad to rival Meat Loaf. Several years later, Wet Wet Wet got busy murdering the Troggs, so Adams' masterwork was reignited on the lovelorn underground.
