usual need to be seen as right on. But amounts to overkill now. I switch a game on at kick off and turn the sound off at half time unless it's Roy Keane as his anger is a joy to behold. Bad enough listening to the in game drivel and chumminess of commentators.

Jos Cole is one of the worst.

The BBC have upped the ante today by selecting a female French pundit for the Belgium Morocco game who has no connection to either team nor British football at all...
Apologies though, appreciate that I'm being sexist for saying this 😔.

He's good! The emotional boys club used to jump around the studio screaming like children, jump on each others' faces because someone passed a ball 10 yards, everything was "obviously", "absolutely brilliant", or absolutely terrible", there was never an inbetweener. Coley keeps it real.

I think Laura Georges is particularly strong on the politics of the sport so I'm glad to see her in the studio today. Didier Drogba, I've no idea what he thinks about anything, but he maintains a good banter for the boys and adds superstar status with a killer smile.

Danny Murphy does good analysis. He's a bit dull with it though. I'm too hard to please!

The English-language sports network that is broadcasting the World Cup here in Canada is also making a point of including as many female pundits as possible in their pre- and post-game shows.
During the games the narration and the commentary still comes from British men, judging by their voices and accents.

And just in order to contradict me, the Brazil x Switzerland match has a woman providing the running commentary. Play-by-play is by a man. They both sound English.

Agreed. Makes my top 3 U K Dannys behind Mills and Gabbidon.
