CBS Sports reporting Jackson State HC Deion Sanders is being offered the head coaching job at the University of Colorado. And Deion is mulling it over
Probably not the job Sanders would have preferred. He reportedly wanted an SEC job if Florida State wasn't opened. And Colorado has struggled since joining the PAC-12. But there's nowhere for the Buffs to go but up.

No way I'd take that job if I were him. Other schools will come calling. I'm not sure how Bill McCartney got them so good.

Seems like a bad fit and a tough job in general. Surely, he can do better.

Seems like a bad fit and a tough job in general. Surely, he can do better. I think so too. Colorado hasn't been relevant since 1996. And the PAC-12 isn't the most stable conference. If USC and UCLA leave and aren't replaced the "Conference of Champions" become the dregs of the Power Five. I could see them slipping below the American Conference. On the other hand, if he makes the Buffs a contender, he becomes the hottest coach in CFB and could get any job. And if he stays at Jackson and they win two games next year, how hot of a coaching prospect is he? From what I've read, he wasn't even considered for the Auburn or Nebraska jobs.

Seems like Deion Sanders is taking the Colorado Job. www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/35168153/sources-deion-sanders-preparing-accept-colorado-coaching-jobWell, well, well. Sweet move by Colorado. At least people will be talking about them in 2023. I guess Prime Time wanted a challenge. I have to admit, he has not taken the easy path since he retired. He could have gone into broadcasting. He could have got the defensive backs coaching job anywhere. Instead, he took prep and HS jobs and the head coaching position at a small college and turned it into a power. If he turns Colorado around he will be the hottest coach in the land.

I still think it's a bad move on his part, but you have to respect his willingness to take on a challenge.

No way I'd take that job if I were him.Β Other schools will come calling. Β I'm not sure how Bill McCartney got them so good.McCartney was a good coach and he recruited good talent. Half a dozen players on his team went on to have decent pro careers. After he left, nothing but lame coaches and soft, wannabe pretenders for players on those teams. Unless Primetime can bring his recruitment over with him this is going to be a disaster. Even if he does I agree this is not a good fit. Itβs one of the worst division one football programs in the country.

Interesting. He was the early favorite for the Georgia Tech job with his connections in Georgia. I dont recall him actually accepting an interview though. I am seeing they hired someone named Brent Key 4 days ago. I'd have assumed they could have thrown more money his way than Colorado. So I'm curious to hear what the appeal to this job would be.

He held his first team meeting yesterday, where he told the current roster to enter the transfer portal. This is going to be interesting.

Who would've imagined Prime Time would morph into this hard ass coach one day? The ultimate showboating a-hole is now telling players he's going to ship their ass out for not working hard enough. I hope it works.

Who would've imagined Prime Time would morph into this hard ass coach one day? The ultimate showboating a-hole is now telling players he's going to ship their ass out for not working hard enough. I hope it works. I have to say I've been impressed with the job Sanders has done so far. I too thought he would use his job to self promote himself. Granted, he has been all over the sports news but he's made it more about the school and the players than himself. what really impressed me was the fact that he didn't schedule any games against power teams. The offers were there and a game against Alabama or Mississippi would have been a big payday for Jackson State. And a big opportunity for Prime time to be all over the CFB news. But he said that it was no good for his players to be in the limelight for one week and then get whupped by a SEC team. He's done a hell of a job at JSU and out recruited a lot of big schools. If he can recruit at Colorado like he did at Jackson, he will do well.
