Old news but Lovie Smith gone from Houston - they didn't even wait until Black Monday. He was hired to fail, then failed to fail at the final hurdle, losing the Texans the #1 pick in the process. Here he is on his way back to his Chicago home, even more beloved by Windy City locals:
lol... I've never heard of a coach getting fired for winning but this could have been the case in Houston.
We'll see if the Texans take a QB in the first round. Davis Mills' stats have actually been decent, so, it wouldn't surprise me that much if they take a defensive linemen. The Texans are famous for taking DLs with that first pick.

Arizona cleaning house. As well as firing Kingsbury, they've announced that GM Steve Keim is stepping down to "focus on his health."
I'd be unhealthy if I were general manager for the Cardinals too.

Isn't that 3 years in a row of missing the playoffs? How can Kraft not let him go? wow... looks like you're stuck with him until he decides to retire.

Belichick said he'd be back before meeting with Kraft; no word yet from Kraft, which I find hilarious. But I'm sure he'll be back. I said a while ago in one of these threads that Kraft won't get rid of him no matter what. Belichick is going to go 7-10 for a few more years until he passes Shula on the all time wins list, and Kraft will let him do it, because it sounds fun as an owner to say your coach was at one point the winningest coach of all time. The Pats are stuck with this fucking loser for the foreseeable future, enjoy the division titles.

You're forgetting squeaking into the playoffs last year and getting blown out in the Wild Card round. Give credit where credit is due!

Texans are definitely going to take a QB IMO, they’ll take either Bryce Young or CJ Stroud, they can’t suffer through another year of being a weak team with Mills or someone else. What I’m interested in is what the Bears do, I would trade that first pick if I were them, because I think Fields has a lot of potential, he just has no receivers around him and the Bears pretty much need help at every position other than QB.

Defensive coordinator Joe Woods has taken the fall in Cleveland. Coaching staff has it all to prove next year.

We'll see, but like Chicago, we need a lot of help to turn this thing around. However, if there is a bright spot in all of this, it's RB1 Dameon Pierce. He's got a ton of potential to be an outstanding back.
Just need an O-line and a perhaps a decent QB and maybe we can be a playoff team in like... 3 years. lol....
Yeah, I'm looking way into the future for this team. Although, it's not that surprising they let Lovie Smith go. He'll always be remembered for punting for a tie in the season opener against the Colts. 4th down 20 secs left on the clock in overtime and my Texans had the ball at about mid-field and Lovie punts...
But it is what it is... some guys play to not lose and others play to win. I would be tempted to take Kingsbury if he wanted to come to Houston. We'll see what they do with the coaching spot for now.

Too bad he's basically quitting as it appears... he has a great football mind.

Sure sounds like McVay is gone to me. Madden all over again. Given what he has on his plate right now outside of football (his wife is Ukrainian and from my knowledge her family is still over there) I'd say coaching and committing that much time to the job seems not so important. He is young enough to lighten his workload atm and return to coaching in a few years and still be in the highest regard.

Brian Flores interviewing with the Browns today. He'd better not just be a Rooney Rule guy... That's right, I forgot the rule extends to OC & DC jobs now too. I would hope they aren't doing this just for the rule, especially for a DC gig as he is 100% qualified for that for sure.

He’s getting paid until 2027, he’s going to live in Thailand, and he doesn’t have to coach the Cardinals anymore. That’s the life.
