The problem with any theism, there is nothing physically tangible to study or quantify. The only thing a theologian can study is at best secondary sources and hearsay.

And yet, theology is a university major. There are many a theologian that do not just have degrees in the subject, but have DOCTORATES.

And it made sense prior to the scientific age where empirical proof is required rather than philosophical proof for valid theories. Even in this present age, there are theologians with doctorates. Doctors of philosophy which means they study the Christian God and today, one can be an atheist and still be a theologian. However, no secular university offers theology or divinity degrees. Even so, it’s a complex subject and worthy of study, if only as a place holder due to the ubiquity the belief in God in Western history, it’s just not provable just like our existential predicament can be studied, but not proven.
