Anyone else check this out? I liked the first two episodes. Glad to have another show on Wednesdays after the void left by Andor....

I enjoyed it. Nothing blew my hair back but I feel invested in most of our main characters only 2 episodes in and I'm excited for the adventure.

36% on RT, yikes , fandom menace strikes back Yeah, that's pretty incredible. I don't think the show is that bad. It's not perfect, but neither was the movie....

I was never a big fan of the movie. I just thought it was okay when I was a kid, and haven't seen it as an adult. The show was also just okay. I'll probably finish the season, but if they come back for a second season I might not come back to it.

WTF with the third episode?
75% of the episode is so dark, I could barely tell what's happening on the screen. It's not my TV either. Same issue if I look though my browser.
What is Disney thinking with this crap? They pulled the same thing on Kenobi. But on that show, at least the characters had lightsabers. This was literally like listening to a show with no picture in parts….

I don't know who double checks these things but they really should compare the product on a few different modes of viewing before release.

Haven't watched Ep3 yet but enjoyed the first two a lot. Warwick Davis seemed a bit stilted doing the more portentous dialogue but he definitely improves when he gets to talk like a normal person. Like the cast/characters in general so far. Willow is one of my favourite movies so glad the show hasn't disappointed (yet!).

That said, I shouldn't have to do that.

Yeah ep3 was definitely too dark. Game of Thrones and Wheel of Time had that issue too.
Apart from that I enjoyed the episode. A couple of observations though:
- I feel Willow's friend should really have been Meegosh. Unfortunately the actor passed away some time ago so they have invented this new character. He doesn't really fit with what we saw in the movie with Willow having only Meegosh and, to a lesser extent, Vohnkar on his side. If this guy is meant to be his best friend for decades, where the heck was he before?
- This reflects more my take on the movie than a flaw as such, but I never really felt like Elora Danan had any special ability. Bavmorda was so obsessed with the idea of her destroying her that she set up a ritual to banish Elora, which thanks to Willow, backfired and banished her instead. It was a nice bit of irony that Elora would have been no threat to her had she not been so afraid she'd be a threat to her. But now it turns out Elora does have magical powers so perhaps she would have been a threat after all so Bavmorda wasn't so foolish I guess. I suppose it's a perfectly legitimate interpretation of the movie, it just feels less interesting to me.

If this guy is meant to be his best friend for decades, where the heck was he before? This bothered me too. I really just wish they'd recast and had this fellow be Meegosh. That said, Willow was really young in the first movie, so it's not inconceivable these two became friends in the intervening years.

I figured that too but then Willows talks wistfully about them being farmhands together which doesn't really fit with Willow becoming The High Aldwin's apprentice when he returned to his village.

Well, the latest episode went full-on "A Knight's Tale mode" on us. That said, I enjoyed the episode. It was nice to see Willow loosen up a bit.

Wasn't too impressed with Episode 5. The tongue was just a bit too firmly in the cheek to the extent I couldn't take it seriously - I'm all for a Xena/Hercules vibe but this felt inconsistent with the movie and previous episodes. Plus it was a bit dull. I liked most of the stuff with Kit though and Boorman is still funny. Also Turns out General Kael wasn't just some evil bastard who wore a skull to scare people, but part of a skull-wearing tribe who fought with Bavmorda against the people who often enslaved his own people. While I suppose giving the character more layers is technically good, I kinda think this sucks.
The trolls feel like a bit of a retcon too - they were just creatures who pooed in the open in the movie, now they run slave mines?
And where the heck did that flamethrower come from?

I'm not a big fan of the movie and firmly decided to skip the show after seeing a couple of promo pics.
