We're back for the 2022 IMDb Days of our Lives Awards! It's that magical time of year when 4 or 5 of us decide who was the best this year and Lucas always does way better than he probably ought to because we all happen to like him.
First up! Lead Actress!

2018: Mary Beth Evans (Runners-Up: Camila Banus/Deidre Hall/Melissa Reeves)
2019: Camila Banus (Runners-Up: Linsey Godfrey and Melissa Reeves)
2020: Linsey Godfrey (Runner-Up: Mary Beth Evans)
2021: Arianne Zucker (Runner-Up: Lindsay Arnold/Deidre Hall)
Lindsay Arnold (Allie Horton)
Camila Banus (Gabi Hernandez)
Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe Lane)
Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali)
Linsey Godfrey (Sarah Horton/Gwen Rizczech-as-Sarah/Ava Vitali-as-Sarah)
Martha Madison (Belle Black)
Emily O’Brien (Gwen Rizczech)
Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker)
Hmm. Tough call. Lindsay Arnold hasn't had as much to do this year as Allie, and neither really has Camila or Nadia, neither of whom are award-caliber anyway. Tamara's good enough but in an annoying role, and I'm tired of Ava even being on this show. Arianne's always good, but nothing stands out to me about her performance this year, in what has been a story I've struggled to get into.
That leaves me with three possibilities.
1. Linsey Godfrey, who had the meaty role of getting to play regular Sarah, crazy Sarah who thinks she's Renee DuMonde, crazy Sarah who thinks she's a child, Gwen in a Sarah mask, and Ava in a Sarah mask.
2. Martha Madison, who had a surprising amount to do this year with all the drama with Jan and E.J.
3. Emily O'Brien, who always brings a surprising amount of depth and anguish to what can be a thankless role and who I'm really starting to enjoy lately.
Since we can only vote for two (and remember vote for two!) I'm going with Linsey and Emily since Martha's had a lot of honors over the years.
I'll add these piecemeal over the next bunch of days. I've whittled it down to just the essential categories.
