is that other than Heimdall or mabye Odin, none of them act their age. They're supposed to be hundreds or thousands of years old and yet they don't act like it. Compare that to some of the elves from LOTR like Galadriel or Elrond or Thranduil, and they at least have some sense of timelessness about them. Some of the vampires in True Blood also have a certain precense to them that makes you believe they are indeed centuries old regardless of how carnal their actions are.
I guess I just wish the Asgardians exuded a certain... gravity... that would make you believe they truly were as ancient and as advanced as they're supposed to be.

I get where your coming from but, I kind of like that the MCU Asgardians live more in the moment. My only complaint with MCU Asgardians is that we don't get to see more of the Nine Realms.

I agree they're fun characters, and I also don't know how Skathaar knows what acting 1000 years old is supposed to be like. I don't know any 1000 year old's, do you?
One thing I've never quite understood is what a Realm is. Does anybody understand how unbelievably massive the universe is? They define Midgard like it's basically just Earth but if we are in one realm and a realm is roughly 1/9th of the universe, there would be billions of galaxies in our realm, nevermind the impossible to comprehend number of stars and even more impossible to comprehend number of planets.

I'm sure the architects of the MCU struggled with the issue of the Asgardians age and longevity. I think their solution was simple and eloquent. We are introduced to the Æsir as they've reached the pinnacle of their social, technological and biological evolution. Slowly but surely their crimes and secrets of the past come back to plague them... SaveSave

That speaks to something I've yet to understand about Thor and Loki... Are they the actual Thor and Loki from Norse mythology (meaning in the reality of the Marvelverse) or were there other Thors and Lokis over the millennia?? Selvig looked them up in the library in Thor 1 so obviously they had been to Earth before... I don't get how he could be arrogant for that long while wielding the hammer then all of a sudden have to grow up to be worthy.
Regardless though, both Thor and Loki are 100s of years old so it's odd to think that it took that long for their relationship to become antagonistic or for Thor to gain maturity.

If I may, @forceghostackbar .
Thor's arrogant attitude probably served the realm when it was war-torn in past millennia. The first Thor movie states that Asgard was currently at peace. It also hints that this peace was recently won and very fragile. For Thor to be a worthy peacetime Prince / King, he would need to be more even-tempered.
I admit I'm reaching but, it's the best I've got right now.SaveSave

Funny thing is, Odin seems just as arrogant as Thor is, especially in Thor TDW. The difference is that Thor (in the first movie) was just more battle hungry. Odin was more about peace but he seemed just as arrogant... which is justifiable because of their nobility. I actually miss Thor's arrogant streak.
