Glad for Colin, McDonagh & BANSHEES Not seen EVERYTHING yet. Just glad TOP GUN didn't score I hadn't noted that re Quan There was some "boycott" of some sort that I never got to the bottom of. I did not know about the Brendan Fraser boycott thing. I know the obese community is giving him flak for his role in The Whale. I haven't seen The Whale yet.

A former colleague on Facebook gave a raving review of "All Quiet on the Western Front". The trend is that it will be up for many nominations as well in the up coming Oscar. I should watch soon on Netflix.

I should watch soon on Netflix. I was disappointed with the new version of "All Quiet on the Western Front" and prefer the 1930 version. I expect this is a minority position, though.

The only thing I ponder is what dramatic staged event will they do this year to try to get attention as the viewership decline continues.
Last year it was observed that the only film talked about the morning after Oscar night with any passion was Gi Jane.

Blanchett is the bookies favourite I'm told, But I reckon Yeoh & Williams have a shot - Blanchett has two already, which I'm guessing is a factor in some voting. It probably would be in mine....
